What's your monthly consumer spend?

Family of 5. We're between 6-7k. (Do not include mortgage, daycare, rent, utility bills)
We took a massive look at our insane spending at the start of the year. Our biggest gut punch was dining out. We've cut that way back and being more thoughtful about one off purchases. We're now spending half of what we were. I have no freaking clue how we were spending so much but making positive changes feels great. It make me sick to think about.

Credit card companies have started doing a really nice job of breaking out and categorizing spending.
It’s not perfect but close enough. I put 90% of my spending on one credit card so it’s easy to get a fairly accurate view.
Dining was a disgusting number for me as well.

This is actually what sparked the alarm. Literally Jan 1 I was like "shite!"

We were 2000-3000 a month. We've cooked at home, zero fast food outside of a family trip last week.
Now 700-1000 on dining out.

Basic budget can make big difference
We found dining out to be over priced, hit or miss on delicious, and healthier when cooking at home.
We dine out but less and save more.
However, Chick FIL A can be off the charts sometimes. Wife n daughter love them some CFA!

Roughly $7/8k/month. Single, no family.

If you want to throw your money away, pay other people to do things you could. And cooking is probably the one people do this with the most.
People will change their own oil to save 20 dollars every 3 months, but don't think twice about paying 60-100 dollars for a family of four to eat out once or twice a week when you could spend 20 or less to eat at home.
We pretty much only eat out on vacation (and even then we usually do a VRBO so we can cook some if possible), a few special occasions a year, and if we are gone and there just isn't much choice.

About 10k/month.
ETA: I'm including car payment/insurance and gas and a mild home reno into that number.
If I back those items out it's probably closer to 8600/month.

I think we are around $5K/month in spending excluding the things you mentioned in OP.

Family of 3. We spend 4k on all necessities (food, gas, daycare, bills, etc..) spend an additional 1k on miscellaneous stuff

How?
I included monthly subscriptions and gym membership in the 2,160 number.

We spend that on daycare for 2 of ours. Luckily, down to one next year

Strictly consumer spending averages $3k/mo (25% are groceries
) Family of 4 in medium CoL location.
Add in daycare, mortgage, bills, etc. (basically anything except investments), then we're at about $7.5k/mo. I get a $1k/mo savings next year when the first kid goes to pre-k. Then another $1k savings the year after when the second kid goes to pre-k

Family of 3. Typical is between 5500 - 6500. Wish it were more like 4000-5000. Savings rate has taken a hit since our first born arrived last year.

I'm in my 9th year teaching.
I coach on top of that, and I take home just $3,163/month.
