I switched companies and gave myself a 70 % increase in base pay.

2.5%. Hr felt that with our group being at the top end of the peer group industry range and with oil doing what it was, that we should be happy.
I ain't complaining. The company did well and I got a sweet arse bonus

Does 2 extra weeks of vacation count?

Honestly, I'd love that in lieu of a raise this year.

0% the past two years, but in all fairness the equity and bonuses are well worth it.

Probably 3% at best, still don't know for sure, but I know that's the high end.

No news yet. Find out in the next few weeks. 3-4% is what I expect. Variable is the more interesting question mark.

If you want a raise you gotta jump ship or renegotiate salary and offer value.

Of course, if you do this well enough you end up at the top of the market and then take your annual increases with a smile.

Or work for someone that is not scared to well compensate his/her people. These people are rare, IMO.

I would personally rather pay someone a few grand too much that does his/her job extremely well than lose that person over salary issues. The cost of replacing great talent is tremendous.

No kidding. I've seen some replacement numbers that make you wonder why a company would want to waste that

It's a mix of not only the real cost (recruiting fees, etc.) but the implicit costs of retraining and using your team's time to find the new resource. The loss of institutional knowledge is likely to be the biggest lost.

Let's see 5% in January and I'm probably going to ask for another soon.

I've made some big moves last year, and year over year that's a total of like 25% excluding this years bump.

Looking at it overall, I was definitely underpaid when I started.

Raise: Not until 4/1. I'm just hoping for 3-4%, but keeping my job in O&G would be just fine too.

Bonus: It was 13%. Very happy to have received that.
