Warren Buffett admitted to shareholders Saturday that he made a mistake by not buying Google shares years ago, when the company was getting $10 or $11 per advertising click from Berskhire Hathaway consumer insurance company subsidiary Geico.

The Oracle of Omaha also professed ignorance on other big technology stocks, whose rallies he missed because he didn't quite appreciate their value proposition at first glance

quote:

"I was too dumb to realize. I did not think [Bezos] could succeed on the scale he has," Buffett said, adding that he "really underestimated the brilliance of the execution." The investor humbly admitted that he and partner Charlie Munger "miss a lot of things, and we'll keep doing it."

Maybe. He certainly has the lack of knowledge on the tech thing going again.

Who knows, though? He's been right a lot too. Crypto is definitely a bubble right now, but that doesn't mean it's about to pop or that when it does, it will go completely away.

Everyone is calling crypto a bubble. Makes me think that it’s not actually in a bubble..

I see your point, but crypto seems to have a following that is a) more cult like; and b) not traditional investors. So I'm not sure the bubble factor is as accounted for in the price as it would be without those variables.

I have coins, so I'm not hating, but something so new and with such a huge spike in a short amount of time scares me as someone who would like to hold coins for the long term.

oh its definitely a bubble..but imo that bubble isn't ready to pop for a few more years as everyone is now starting to get into it.

i could be wrong but i'm planning to HODL!

its like the lottery to me except way better odds. i'm writing off what i'm putting into it and if it pays off big time, awesome! if not, i still have my IRA and 401K and traditional investments.

It's valued as a speculative investment with no intrinsic value and, at the moment, no clear path to having value. It's a bubble.

I didn't appreciate Amazon either until it was $1000 per share. Then I finally got on board.

That is true about BTC. BTC is a dinosaur and has no value besides a currency that transaction fees are rapidly rising. Within the next 12-24 months ETH is going to flip BTC and will be king. ETH is not solely a currency but smart contracts, etc

Only reason I haven’t got into it. I can’t figure out how to get into it or buy coins in a somewhat safe manner. One poster says do this while the other says what are you stupid....
