Who has this in here? Who likes it. My dad was a vet so I am eligible. Is there a local agent in Baton Rouge? I probably should have checked into this a long time ago. Thanks

Good so far, only been about 6 months.

I did everything over the phone and online. I haven't had a claim so I can't say what the "local" experience is like. I saved a good amount of money moving from State Farm to USAA.

I was with them for about 15 years. Their customer service is unbeatable. You are paying for it though. They are extremely competitive on auto but home is high for me.

I finally switched when I wanted a better umbrella and USAA’s home was too high for me.

Great company though

I’ve had usaa insurance for 28 years.

No issues.

I’ve had some minor claims Over the years with no issues.

USAA just recently re entered the Louisiana homeowners market.

Unsurpassed customer service

15-20% more expensive than the market

(I am a USAA customer)

I have it. I love it.

As stated above, homeowners insurance is higher than most, but everything else seems priced very competitively.

I briefly switched auto insurance when I first started insuring teenage drivers, but that didn’t last a year. Went back for the customer service.

You do not need a local agent. I’ve never met one in the almost 30 years i’ve been with them.

You think 20% more is worth the value of customer service?

FYI, I have no problem paying more for great service and more comprehensive policies. To many people look at price and not what your getting.

Great service and pricing for auto. Unreasonably high for home. Not competitive for life insurance

I switched 2 years ago after more than 40 years with Liberty Mutual. It saved me $2500 on combined auto and homeowner with better coverage.

I had hail damage to my roof in the second policy year and they replaced the entire roof, a $27K job less my deductible, with no questions asked. My roofer says they're absolutely the best company to deal with.

As an AF brat I've made sure to maintain accounts with both USAA and Navy Federal.

as others mentioned they have great customer service. Their homeowners is high but auto is low. I also use them for banking. They do not have a local office but ive seen a usaa car around baton rouge, i guess it is an adjuster.

Got a great deal for using the checking, auto and home..Had to make a claim involving lightning and literally just emailed the agent pictures of powered down equipment and serial numbers I could get to..

Dropped them.

You won't get the discounts he does.

It's easy to do online.

Compare with others. I got almost twice the coverage with Met Life and saved over $500/year. I think it was closer to $800/year.

Correct. Some companies will make filing a claim a large pain in the arse. USAA won't. The premium based on their customer service is worth it in my opinion.

WTF are ya'll smoking? As an attorney that deals with all of the insurance companies, USAA is the worst when it comes to paying first party claims (auto). They rarely pay timely, always looking for additional conditions to add on before payment of claims, etc. also, you have to talk to a different person for each little portion of the policy: 1 for property damage, 1 for UM, 1 for med pay, etc.

The #1 thing about USAA is that when you have a problem, and you call them, a well-spoken American answers the phone and helps you. They are the Chick-Fil-A of insurance and banking.

As an Attorney that deals with Insurance companies, What are the top 3 companies you would recommend?

Your side of speaking with them is different than a customer with damage. You're obviously a PI attorney and not a customer who calls in for fire damage on home or a fender bender in a car.

So to answer your question

...nothing. We don't go thru litigation to get our car fixed...but I sure as hell hope they continue to battle ambulance chasers for every penny, it keeps our costs down

i've had USAA for a long time, at least 30 years. customer service is good--they adjusted a hurricane Andrew claim over the phone and never came out. my family and I have had multiple auto claims (5 deer) several totals. no problems. I agree their homeowners is probably too expensive but honestly I haven't been motivated enough to look elsewhere. but I think I could save there.
