Why not take the exam? Make some connections with an electrician and plumber who would sign off on your work for a fee? That’s what I would do. I work a home based job as a construction manager for a major oil co and travel a lot, by the time Friday rolls around I’ve put in 50 plus hours so if my calendar is open I’m knocking out some handyman work. The water softener jobs pay 2500 bucks in a day, 2k of which is profit.

Reading the Louisiana laws….state law says plumbing and electrical licenses only required for jobs over 10k, but I guess each individual town has its own requirements

you and me both. Thankfully things like rides are tested for a minimum of 6 months. And that average would be just say vehicle on coaster ride cycling. Doesn’t include every other component that is being tested prior to them arriving, testing in the facility, etc.

I made about 4k in 5-6 weeks delivering for Uber in spring of 2022.

Did you deduct gas and wear/tear on vehicle from this figure?

Before COVID I did some bartending. I had a friend that owned a bar and I would go help him out at times when they were busy / someone needed off. Would work maybe like 6 hours a week and would usually get $40 or so an hour with tips. And it was a lot of fun.

The bar did not survive COVID, unfortunetly.

I still do it from time to time, I know a guy with a catering business and sometimes I'll go work events for him. I'm not a regular and I don't ever want to take any money away from his regulars, but if they need extra people or someone can't work it, I'll go do it.

Also, if you are into sports and in decent shape and have a thick skin, every high school association is looking for sports officials.

Damn that is wild I am a retired teacher /coach and my two part time gigs are officiating football and and working for some friends in catering. I will say catering is hard work ! Loading and unloading trailers 4 times for every event plus serving / cleaning is brutal sometimes

My vehicle was worthless, part of why I did it...
I still came out way ahead on gas, but no it was not reflected in the figure. Uber added a gas fee that helped a bit.

It was good money, but I worked really hard. Like 99th% percentile for delivery drivers hard...

delivering after flash flooding, during tornado threats, 6 am on Saturday morning, etc.

Yeah, I don't do all that LOL

I show up about an hour beforehand, set up the bar, pour drinks all night, then clean up the bar after.

I’ve been in marketing/video production for 20+ years, used to pick up gigs with Cox Sports, ESPN and SEC Network that paid well but the time commitment sucked. Now I focus on making videos for businesses/schools, etc. just picked up a $10k job for a catholic high school to do an enrollment video and a couple of 30 second commercials. They are also going to do some digital marketing with me down the road so it will monthly income beyond videos once every couple of years.

This. I was thinking about becoming a swim official at meets after I saw the pay for something I would already be attending.
