re: Graves at Santa Clara

Graves has about a half dozenNBA teams looking at him for a first round pick. It would be pretty unlikely we get him, if he doesn’t go to the NBA draft you can believe he’s coming here.
I flew out on Wednesday at 7am and it took me about 15 minutes to get through TSA pre check. Normal line looked like it was moving fast as well.

Seems like this is more of a weekend problem which makes sense
Trent also didn’t have a 7 year guaranteed contract like MM, f you Woody.

I’ve read if MM were to just walk away he would owe LSU $2million. So we’d have to waive that.
If we keep McMahon there will be not be as much or any outside NIL money. The people cutting those checks are done with 4 years of losing a lot of games but more importantly a lot of money into a coach and players that aren’t producing results. There are probably 4-5 BIG money donors for men’s hoops and I know of at least 1 who wont be funding a coach who can’t ‘get it done’
So basically the idea that has been tossed around that it’s all in on Wade or you run it back with McMahon is true. If you can’t pull Wade this year, strip down the resources as much as possible and save up for when you can afford to get rid of McMahon and get Wade.
We spent roughly $9 million on the roster put together by McMahon. So the NIL argument is moot, that is enough to buy you a ncaa tourney team.

Now I will say that you brought in Ronald Dupree after this coaching staff had already signed 5 players to the team. So maybe you hand Dupree the reigns and moneyball McMahon for next year, if he can’t produce again then he just not cut out for this level.

For the record, I would have got rid of him last season. If you keep him one more year the Pmac will most definitely be a morgue all year if he doesn’t win.
Everybody always says McMahon is a great guy, well if he was really great he would do the honorable thing and go find another job so we don’t have to fire him. I had a lot of respect for Trent Johnson for doing that. He knew he wasn’t cut out for this job and he went to TCU.

My prediction is that LSU will give MM one more season and then fire him with a smaller payout.

McMahon won’t make it past this season. He’s very fortunate to have gotten the fourth season and the only thing that saved him was going into ADs office and saying give me more NIL money. They agreed to that and said this is your last chance. Same results for him with the most talented roster he has had here.

The wheels are in motion to have his replacement ready to go. I would say after the Miss State loss it ramped up because you had a glimmer of hope to dig out of the basement.

McMahon hasn’t really ever had a different demeanor on the sideline but to me he looks like he knows this is over. He’ll take a year off, get hired in an appropriate level position as a head coach and be pretty successful. He’s just not a fit in the SEC.
We are the bottom feeder in this game and conference right now. Just atrocious what we are looking at here

This is the best team he’s had at LSU & his best player is healthy again

I agree it’s the best team in terms of talent. This should be a 10-11 win conference team…sucks that Thomas went out when we had a great chance to start conference strong but it is what it is.

Would absolutely kill to finish anywhere near 8 conference wins with this team, realistically though I gotta believe 5-6 wins is the ceiling.

We probably lose tonight but McMahon actually has an 3-3 record against Arkansas so maybe there’s a chance…and we should have a great chance in the next two. But then you have a five game stretch that we may win 1 game out of those.

We know it is tournament or bust, if we get to say 4-9 before the Bama game can we legitimately expect to go 5-0 or 4-1 in the stretch. We haven’t seen it before with McMahon, does he have it?

How people still say Matt McMahon is not a bad coach is hilarious. He has lost 75% of his conference games. And the crazy thing is our talent this year is pretty solid, but still three of the conference losses are by double digits. I saw enough after year 1 to know McMahon was probably not going to last long here. Really don’t think anything less than a run to the sweet sixteen will keep him here past this year.

He’s unequivocally the worst LSU coach, in any sport, in at least 30 years (maybe more) and we STILL have people trying to excuse that away.

A-freaking-men.

The number of double digit loses in conference over the last four years is staggering. That literally screams out of your league. McMahon’s biggest conference win was 21 points against Arkansas. He may have had one or two other double digit wis. The other 11-12 wins have all been really close.

I think the administration wants to let him finish this year out so we don’t have to fire two coaches mid season, but we are looking at starting conference 0-8 until we play USCe again at the end of the month. If the losses are bad enough especially at home they may have no choice.
It was deleted because it was inaccurate. There is a lot of misdirection going on, which is a good thing in my opinion. Get people chasing their tails while they go conduct business and get a new coach.
Was im the anti McMahon boat after his third or fourth SEC game of his first year. And he’s had no answers for league ever since. I hope he can figure it out cause I love the pmac when it is rocking.
Are we about to see a consolidation into just 3-4 broadcast groups nationally? Looking gray stock sitting under $6 a share, got a lot of debt too and forecast this year looks pretty down. Could they be a buyout target next?
I got a 26kW air cooled Generac put in last year right before hurricane season. Haven’t had to run it for an extended period yet, actually didn’t lose power during last hurricane in BR. I do know Generac is coming out with a new air cooled model later this year or early 26. It won’t run the electric heat on the hvac so keep that in mind. I was all in around $13k
So you're okay paying more NIL money to the same group of guys that just went 3-15 in conference? The AD has put it out there through his cronies that more money was on the way, are we really to believe that the same group of dudes with more money in their pocket and 2-3 new guys are going to perform better under this coaching staff? It's really difficult to see that happening.
It’s such a BS narrative, South Carolina made the tourney last year and lost to Oregon in the first round. Their AD just said F it, you don’t need anymore money?

Odds are a different coach with the current LSU roster would very likely have more than 3 conference wins. And now you got players quiet quitting to prepare for the portal season. If we’re giving McMahon more NIL money then we’re in year 0 once again because he has to go out and get a whole new roster. You can’t run it back with the guys on the current team.
I’ve been doing live sports broadcasts for over 20 years on CBS, SEC network, ESPN, Fox Sports and NBC. Mostly running cameras but have directed a bit, no other way to say it but it was another sh!t sandwich by D1. I’ve watched better broadcasts by high school production teams with a three man crew.

The failure on the streaming side is one thing but have a quality production crew that knows what they are doing first and foremost. Run a damn nat sound microphone right outside the announcer booth, you’ve certainly have to have available inputs up there to use.
