BRPHF and COIN are probably the most two legit crypto stocks. MARA has shady management, BITF has a good mining operation but dilutes too much. HIVE and HUT are pretty good miners as well.

The 3 I like most are:
$hut is 196% YTD. Most transparent miner in my eyes
$mara is 275% YTD. The largest, but has a current SEC subpoena
$bitf is 212% YTD. Pushing huge hash rates

Compared to $riot 60% YTD

What you're saying is RIOT has become predictable

Buy it and wait. It will get to the mid 30s and this last go around got to the mid 40s. I always sell at 36 dollars. I’ve done it 3x this year. It’s worked every time.

So you are saying that it's past performance is predictive of future results?

COIN is shite. They’re losing customers in droves. POS app is always glitchy and they are now known to have a pattern of network errors during every bug run bc they don’t have the liquidity to alway people to sell.

Many of us lost thousands a few weeks ago bc they removed the coin we had been trading for several days and kept us locked out of our accts for 12 fckg days!

Agree Trash App, Fees thru the roof, Customer service crap and the list goes on and on.

Okay, I’ve done this several times and I have benefited greatly each time.

Today RIOT fell to 26 bucks. This is when I buy it. Sometimes it drops a bit, but usually this is where it sits.

I’ve done it 3x this year. It’s worked every time.

Down 21.5% plus as of today.

I’m not really trying to rub salt in this wound. A lot of speculative plays have gotten punched in the mouth lately (many of mine too). But this one is a PERFECT example of why it’s not wise to think that a nominal stock price means anything when it’s not tied to some sort of technical support or earnings valuation.

Who knows, the current price on RIOT shares may represent a buying opportunity. I’ve traded options on both RIOT and MARA in the past. And though both have been hammered over the past month or so, they still have great IV. So I’ll continue with my premium selling around both names. I might even day or swing trade the shares. But I’ll use technicals, not just picking a random price based on the past.

Alot of people on this board are in for a rude awakening experiencing a rising rate, tightening environment for the first time. The last 2 years were simply not reality.

If you can't value a company based on earnings and balance sheet, I would implore you to learn. It will be critical.

I agree. While there’s nothing wrong with having a certain portion of ones portfolio being in speculative investments (the percentage being age and circumstance dependent), it seems that since the pandemic, too many newer investors have been YOLOing and FOMOing with over allocations in these high beta names… and ignoring or not understanding risk. Their buys seem to often be based on impulse or “hopium”.

And the question that I’ve asked on here since I arrived, whenever someone would ask about buying or selling: is it a trade or an investment? They’re two different things. And take it from personal experience, there’s not much worse than when a trade becomes an investment (and it moves into your spare bedroom and you don’t have the heart to evict it). Learning how/when to lose is just as important (if not more so) than learning to win.

It’s a learning process with a curve, just like anything else. Good luck to all who play.

I drive by their quaint little 2 room office in Castle Rock all the time. Reminds me of those little weed penny stock companies that would set up one room offices and PO boxes in Colorado during that scam era.
