You fricking retard.
TSLA
WAYMO
They both border the 1, and 183, with TESLA almost entirely south of the river. WAYMO is easily double the size.
This is the most Dunning-Kruger post of the month for sure.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Tesla drove autonomously with NO ONE in the car over 17 miles (not geofenced) from the factory to new owner. Pretty cool

1. Why is the robotaxi geofenced to a tiny part of Austin?
2. Why does the robotaxi require a human operator?
3. Why was the launch even INVITE ONLY and not open to the public?
Like if it's so great, why do the above things exist?

This is normal system testing for any larger roll out. Always go in phases.

You can be your own judge on whether it’s great or not. No one cares about convincing you, you aren’t special. I was just posting a feat that’s never been accomplished before, which to me, demonstrates how great the tech is.

They forget that Tesla is AI driven and constantly educating and improving itself. That's the big advantage, other than being waaaaaay more cost effective than the other options using lidar. Tesla has an insane amount of data behind their FSD. I have zero doubts Elon will get us there. The timeframe? Will be faster with an administration that's not trying to destroy him and his company for political reasons. He and Trump are good. That was all for show.

LIDAR is the “standard” way of doing this business. Tesla says “hang on, we can do it cheaper” . Can they? History is littered with organizations and businesses who thought they could do things more cheaply than the standard. See Beechcraft Starship. I wish Elon luck on this one.

Short it if you don’t think Tesla is going to make it work.

Pretty cool vid. How does it react when like leaving a concert and a human is in the street using hand signs to direct traffic?

I mean this with all due respect because I do think you are a smart guy.
Why does this matter? Why can't you see where the puck is going rather than where the puck is?
I'm sure guys like you didn't understand when the internet came out either.

That was pretty cool. I’m going to be in Austin in October and will try this. It feels like Tesla is about to become the next Apple and Microsoft combined.

They had a video on X the other day construction worker waving cars through a red light and it responded with no issues. I will have to try find the video and post it.

Most don’t want to hear it, but we’re all gonna have self driving cars one day and the roads will be a million times safer.

Agree and look forward to it. Elon lost a friend in a motor vehicle accident. Apparently that was what first got him to think about self driving vehicles. Make it profitable and businesses will adopt it. Once every vehicle is FSD vehicular deaths will become as rare as an OT 10.

I'm picking up a new Model Y on Monday, assuming no issues (insurance transfer has been a shitshow). Pretty excited.
But since this is a MT thread, I'm posting because the general assumption has been that the $7500 tax credit would likely end at the end of this year. Apparently, the Big Beautiful Bill has been revised to end the tax credit at the end of September. This would obviously affect profits for not only Tesla, but all EV companies.

The riddle of autonomous driving would be so much easier without having to deal with humans.
Regardless the auto insurance/bullshite lawyers industry will be fighting this tooth and nail.

This is true. Anyone who has written software knows the 90-10 rule.
90% solution basically takes 10% of the time. So getting to demo etc is actually the easiest part. Driving the car on the road etc..
Getting from 90% solution to 100%, will take 90% of the development time. Corner cases, random bugs, and other unforseen use cases. Constant troubleshooting difficult problems which make you go back and completely refactor parts of your code.
Unfortunately for things in safety you can't really move forward with only 90% solution.
People don't realize that's getting the car to drive autonomously was always the easy part. Getting it to react to the craziness of everyday is going to take a lot of time
