You were not coming here for advice. You came here to gripe and complain about a perceived slight in hopes of finding people who would rally behind you.
You're god damn right

I’m not the one complaining about my employer.
I am compensated very graciously for my work.

Are you coming right out of undergrad or a graduate program? Do you have work experience prior to your current role?
Transparently, what you get paid early on in your career doesn’t matter as long as you can cover your bills, live a decent lifestyle, and maybe sock away a little bit / cover student debt. Your first 5 years minimum of work experience is about setting a foundation for your future. I recommend you focus on working for the right people on the right projects that develop marketable skills. Do a great job and pay will take care of itself.

There is something intrinsically wrong about being paid less than what you made the previous year
Your first problem is you don't understand what a bonus is.

I really hope they realize the vast majority of employees are going to leave for better pay if they're not promoted, because no one is going to do the same or in my case more work for less pay.
You're going to be doing the same work for 103% of last year's salary. Again, learn what a bonus is.

You realize 200k to a company, unless it's a small gig, is crumbs... I netted my company just over 10 million npv last year... and a nice bonus and 3% raise... quit whining

True. Best thing I can do is be a part of a major, successful peoject, in terms of having something to show off my skills to future employers, or as a basis to get a promotion.

nah
you had it right the first time.
bitching like a girl on the Internet because your raise wasn’t enough is the way to fame and riches

For real? Damn bro I've been going at life all wrong. You've truly opened my eyes.

It was a one time incentive for you to go to work there. Not a recurring payment

No my problem is total compensation in 2nd year<1st year.

We're close enough to the same age that I can relate to your situation. Honestly, if you just take pride in things because you give a shite and not because it adds to your resume, you'll get a lot further in life.
Also, if you don't like getting paid a salary with annual bumps and maybe a significant bump every five years or so, you shouldn't have taken a salary job.
You're not going to be exactly where you want to be career-wise 12-24 months after you graduate and that is okay.

Why do you think you’re entitled to your sign on bonus every year?
Posted on 4/10/19 at 8:09 pm to HogFanfromHTown
If I were your boss and I knew you felt like this, you would be looking for a new job.
