Well considering I graduated last May in engineering and business, I’d say i am pretty in tune with today’s job market.

They did give me a 3% raise. If I was given 0, I’d be looking for a new job as I type this.

I’m saying if this year they do match your 7% asking but the following year they only offer 3% or less, how would you feel? After seeing your response, I’m going to guess be looking for a new job, which sounds like something you will be doing quite often.

I just posted it on here to get an idea of if people thought that was ridiculous or if I'm an entitled millenial. Apparently I'm the latter.

103‰ the latter.

Your problem is you do not understand bonus versus salary.

No my problem is total compensation in 2nd year<1st year. It's that simple man. Idc in what format I get paid. I just want to be rewarded for the work I put in and this shows that they are rewarding me more for choosing them as a company than the actual work I'm doing, which is ridiculous and insulting.

You are obviously the only person here who can not grasp the fact that just because you cashed a check before you ever started working for the company that you earned anything.

The bonus was an incentive to get you on board, now that you are there you will make what your employer and you agreed to. Now if 3% is all they give each year, well you should have negotiated better.

Honestly these responses don't surprise me given the content of the political talk board on this site.

Now I’m just convinced you are trolling....or just stupid.

Poli and Money boards are two vastly different boards and topics....maybe you should go back to the Poli board

Exactly they're incentivizing me more to join the company than they are rewarding me for my work. That feels incredibly disingenuous. I tried to negotiate but I was told rhat "3% is the most we are allowed to give" which felt like a lie.

I'm not trolling and if you don't see the connection between downvoting the shite out of someone complaining about the compensation of their job and right wing advocacy you really are stupid.

Stupid, got it.

If you think any company that gives you a sign on bonus will match or exceed that bonus plus your salary the following year, you will be job hunting a lot.

Well I would hope to be promoted by then and it would be a non-issue.

Cause secretaries are told to create employee performance metrics based on hard data from scratch right?
