Can we compare their warnings about the economic impact of Trump winning in 2024 to their most likely same warnings about the economic impact of Trump winning in 2016?

Also, can they elaborate on how much time they spent reviewing "all" of his plans in detail in order to come to these stark warnings?

It's very cringe that a board of allegedly higher income savers with economic literacy believe the president controls spending other than vetoing bipartisan omnibus bills or tax cuts that would cause a nuclear meltdown in the country

in the executive branch, the president introduces budget proposals that outline the administration's spending and taxation priorities, as guided by the Secretary of the Treasury and economic advisors. In the legislative branch, Congress votes on legislation and appropriates spending for fiscal policy measures, a process that involves participation, deliberation, and approval from both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Any legislation passed must be signed by the president before becoming law.

In other words, the president and Congress work in tandem to determine fiscal policy.

The president submits an annual budget, which Congress uses to develop budget resolutions.

Acting like the president isn't the single individual with the most power over the budget is a bit disingenuous imo. He cant do it without congress, but he obviously steers the ship.

This isn’t the 50s where people are honest and everyone wants what’s best for the country

The democrats are firmly entrenched and when they’re in control they flip the switch on for steal mode and everyone who doesn’t rely on government’s life gets worse. If we’re able to ever get a Republican president again he may be able to turn off steal mode for a while

With that being said, trump spends like a drunken sailor. Definitely wish he was fiscally conservative
So you're voting for him because he's socially conservative?

I could be wrong but I think much of this warning comes from tariffs, and those don’t really require congressional support.

I don’t believe his tariff threats. It’s his negotiating tactic. Start from an extreme place…..

The media is going to continue to throw spit balls until the election is over to see what sticks.

The media and government have always lied to us but Trump absolutely broken them. TDS is real.

That’s fine, but at face value they’re incredibly inflationary.

I agree.

Consumers get hurt the most by tariffs.

Trump is excellent at giving red meat to his base. Blaming others and specifically other countries. Remember Mexico is going to pay for the wall!

However, he is a known commodity since he was President already. I don’t see him or Biden changing much. There is too much inertia in the status quo.
