With Delta my November bill was $47. December was $115. January was $116. My heat is gas and my wife gets cold easily so we've been running the heat a lot. Hopefully it will go down as it warms up.

Got my first bill after Centerpoint switched to Delta last month and it was a good 40% higher than the same time the year before. May need to order the 50 gallon barrel of lube from Amazon before this next bill comes in since it will include the freeze we just had. Screw Delta. Utilities are all monopolies and you have no other option for competition. Either take it up the arse, or freeze during winter.

$106. And our water and HVAC is powered by electricity. So this is just natural gas for cooking. Last year at this time was $60.

If it makes you feel better I paid $610.xx last week to fill a 500 gallon propane tank to 82% full. There are 18 homes in the community with 5 wells and our roof top solar panels keep electricity ~ $15/month with PNM, a bit higher in the summer with 4 mini-splits. It's taken 4+ weeks to melt the last snow fall.

I work in the industry and can tell a lot of stories but my best advice is don't go broke trying to heat your entire house if you only use half the house space. Water heater and stove doesn't take much gas. NG for furnace heating has evolved in to a commodity for the wealthy, or the extreme poor on Govt assistance.

Centerpoint has a feature in their online portal called "analyze bill" where they politely explain the various ways they are fricking you.

I'm kind of concerned what's going to happen to electricity and natural gas prices over the next few years in LA as Entergy brings 5 new 1500MW power plants online.
