That was intended to poke Stupid, since he was trying to convince everyone that you had lost confidence in OUST and dumped your holdings, in spite of what you said in the thread.

576 shares for me, average of $35.25. Initially entered around $31.00 but bought some in the high $30's when it started dropping and got stuck.

Ouster was 25 bucks when OP started this thread, it’s up 70% since up to today. As always the easiest way to lose money on a stock up 70% in 6 months is to make a bad entry.

wait for a big pullback after these things run or don’t get in. If you miss it there’s always another one

Yep. I got shares at $30.40. I took some money from another stock and invested it. I dumped some of my shares at various points between $45 and $38 about 1 month ago.

I will probably add some more, depending on what my other investments are doing.

No. I dropped them months ago.

coincidentally I’m looking at IREN now. This one is a good example…it pulled way back as they transitioned from BTC mining to data centers and now is a good entry (if you like the stock)

It dropped to 35 a couple of weeks ago and I thought about getting some more shares. Right now I'm holding at a $37 avg. It jumped other day

Hi!

I'm in at an average of $40. I'm good though, not impatient and will wait this one out.

Seem like an easy concept, but I always buy the dip way too early….

an easy cheat sheet is to target the 200 day simple moving average. If the price hits that line there’s your buy zone. If it does not, you can obviously still buy but your risk of going lower expands. If it doesn’t get there and goes back up again, then wait for it again

one of the things that can happen is a lockout rally…the price just keeps climbing, locking out everyone waiting for a better price.

If you are already in, great you’re happy. If you are not, chasing usually ends badly

I’m going to start trying to buy the peaks. My buy timing is uncanny so this strategy may lead to better entry points.

opposite supadave might work
you could also just sell puts at strikes you would like to own the shares at. You’ll get the premiums while you wait and if you get assigned you are happy about it. If you don’t you can try again

That has been my strategy. I had about 1000 shares assigned in the mid 40's and have done CC at higher price. Now have 1500 shares at cost basis of $33.25. I had 7 CC that expired yesterday with close to $800 in premiums without losing shares. Have 5 CC's left with strike between $70 and $95 with avg premium of $800 each. Premiums has drastically reduced my cost basis. Will do some more CC's on Monday but premiums will probably be much less unless I set the strike below where I a comfortable.
