My feeling is to sell whenever it starts falling.

However, I've missed big gains by doing that as the stock continues to rise!!

This is just my opinion, but I think that if you really trust a stock and believe it is going to multiply in the long term, then buy shares and hold onto them. Use options for short term plays, but hang onto those stocks that you want to make the cornerstone of your portfolio. Don't try to buy and sell at every peak and valley in the price. You will make some money doing this, but you will also find yourself selling low and buying high as often as the other way around.

Today is a perfect example. A lot of people are kicking themselves for trying to outsmart the market by selling off at the end of yesterday. These same people are jumping back in, today, and then and only then, it will dip...

I have a significant number of shares and I sold my 1/27 $1c options yesterday. No biggie, because I can buy back in later at a different price/date. But I hang on to the stocks I like long term.

Sold my 2/2027 $50 C contracts. Might look into selling puts in the near future. Need to do more research on this, though.

I learned that lesson the hard way….

I started semi-day trading with the volatility in OUST. Buying in the upper 30s, selling in the low to mid 40s. Was making 1000-1200 a trade doing it.

But I sold on Friday, and missed out on this rocket ship that started Monday.

Same, here. I was buying and selling the dips and finally figured out that I was essentially breaking even. I made a little money here and there, but the ones I missed were usually the big ones where the stock really took off.

I don’t know either. BayouBengal is #1!

My investment has more than doubled in value in less than 1.5 months. It is definitely the fastest I’ve had a stock that’s doubled so quickly.

Trying this is the reason I only have 60 shares of NBIS rather than 100. Selling is easy but knowing when to jump back in is hard.

Look at the bottom of the NBIS thread. A lot of people talking about selling and then watching NBIS go up $40/shr.

I sold half and converted to options to get more leverage at its pre Oct peak. Almost called the top perfectly…which was brilliant on the sell but not the best time to double down on calls.

Yeah…I’m a dumbass.

im going to wait on a pull back. If not there I am ok missing out. FOMO has cost me about 90% of the time so I had to exercise some type of discipline.

I sold two contacts which tripled my money and just kept the other two contracts. My covered call is in danger of being called away but I got several months unless I close it out.
