I thought that was 1 of the advantages of AI - that it updated itself?

You can’t trust just about anything on that Chinese report. It was likely trained illegally on stolen data. It was likely developed with stolen American IP. The performance may be faked in some way. And the total cost is definitely fake

It's on GitHub, you can check their work.
Well, you is a euphemism because you likely have no clue wtf any of it means.

I certainly am. It’s selling at a great price. Still a great company. Financials are solid. Why would anyone not take advantage?

All most likely true.
But crazy how the market can react to a press release.

I can't take credit for it.

I have always heard about the "bias" of AI but this is a great example...

The thing is, if it's true that advances from here can be made at a fraction of the cost, then that is going to be HUGE for the American companies.

Yea I truly think this (if it's even "real") will be a boon to the AI space, not a bubble popping.
This, again, if "real" will just open up AI models to smaller players (increased demand) while the big boys will happily accept the efficiency gains while contniuing to throw more and more compute power at it.
The mega companies aren't thinking "Oh damn now we don't need all this hardware we planned on ordering" They are thinking "Oh damn the hardware we planned on ordering is going to be even more impactful due to a big efficiency gain"
The bubble popping comes when companies actually take the big leap and start shedding humans in favor of AI only for the AI to be inferior enough that the company blows up or something. Like a super high profile financial scandal wherein an AI fricki up causes a big boy to go under in rapid, catastrophic fashion. That's the black swan event.

Apparently they released an image generator? How does it compare to others?

Honestly our own tech companies do the same thing but with different topics

Correct.
IF this tech is legit, it's great for American AI and the big boys still have the money to create the largest infrastructure
