Which company has the best deal on personal checks?

Have you tried a time machine?

Yes, I take my time machine to write a check to all of these summer camps that think it's 1994.

Sams. I don’t think you have to be a member to order them because it’s a separate website from the main Sams one.

Someone explain to me how it works to order checks that aren’t from your bank?

You have to give them all your banking info; so you pray to the money gods that the minimum wage employee who is putting your order together doesn't run off with your identity.

Many years ago, we often received junk mail and Sunday paper inserts offering to sell checks. They were cheaper than from the bank and came in various designs. You sent them a check marked void, and they used that to print new ones for you.
I called in to order more from the company that already had my info. Asked for 2 boxes, but they offered a steep discount to order 4. I took the offer, and we
pretty much quit using checks soon after. Those were on Hibernia, and they still worked even after Capital One bought it out. I figured I needed new checks when, several years later, a Capital One teller asked, “What’s Hibernia?” I still had a couple boxes that went to the shredder.
Now, depending on the type account you have, checks from your bank can be free.

I always saw those junk mail adds but I never knew how that worked. I have only ever gotten them from the bank.

Bradford Exchange. It’s the same company that sells them to your bank/CU who charges you $30/box. Same with ad mai/newspapers (same company owns that company also)
It’s an account # and routing #. That information is useless and given away all the time.

If your combined balances at your bank are high enough, they’ll order them for you and not charge you a dime.
If not, you’re at the wrong bank and/or are not keeping / making enough money there.

Sams
One order lasts me about three years
98 percent of the checks I write… are to pay something for the kids.

Exactly. I used Sam’s last year. No issues

The last time I ordered checks was probably 15 years ago - I think I bought them from Deluxe. It was one box - that seriously lasted that long. Everything I do is either paid electronically or through a credit card.

I got stuck in line at Rouses yesterday behind a 40 something year old gay looking guy writing a fricking check. I swear it felt like we were standing there for 10 minutes waiting for this moron.

A 'box' of checks they send us is like 5 books glued into a bigger book. Those last us about 2-3 years. We dont shop around for them.
