i semi agree with our resident crank that AI compute may or may not ever be a profitable enterprise. however, AI application will soon be universal and every company on earth will use AI to generate profits (big profits).
in one of the posts above Palantir was mentioned, thats a good example
i think thats the disconnect here

Companies are investing trillions in AI. This isn't a niche product like Rivian or Chinese EVs.
You would have agreed with Harry Warner when he said, "Who the hell wants to hear actors talk?" in the heyday of silent movies.
You would have questioned the validity of personal computers in the 80's. Don't waste your money by investing in Microsoft. There is no market for people to have their own personal computer.
This is not a better mousetrap. AI is going to change the world in ways we haven't thought of and on a scale that is unprecedented. This is not a specific product. It is hard to imagine any aspect of our life that will not be affected in some way by AI.

Dckhead post. Where were you when BB88 called this shot at $20 per share? You may eventually be partially right for some datacenter builders, but do some research on NBiS shifting model. Again, i believe the investment houses have a far better vision for what is happening with ai than an angry message board guy.

True. They used all their FCF to do it.
With very little ROI.
Now they are tapping debt markets.
This is your sign to exit if you haven’t already.

You’re a broken record.
We get it. You got burned badly in 1999-2000 and us getting burned now will make you feel a bit better.
But I bet you’re not shorting anything.

AI will be peak pioneers get the arrows and settlers farm the land.
It will be profitable for whichever duopoly prevails….everyone else gets to relish their participation in a historic event while watching their investment getting wiped by a bankruptcy judge.

It simply looks like demand will continue to increase.

Whatcha think Jax?
This’ll all probably be pedestrian and ubiquitous soon, huh?
That’s A LOT of compute…

Obviously, it's just a fad...
We have an entire population that is beginning to learn how to use AI in a productive way, not just to read restaurant reviews and spell check.
I like the first comment - "Didn't this thing take down half the internet when they released it?"
Seems like they are lacking data centers...

LCID, Rivian, and all the Chinese EVs too,
You just named some individual companies, but the number of EVs world wide is increasing and will probably continue. The industry is not failing, individual companies are. Other companies are making good money off of EVs.
You are pretty much saying that AI is going to collapse under the weight of it's financing. I disagree. I think some neoclouds will fail. NBIS is the best of the bunch, IMO, in large part due to their management team. It is clear that they have a vision and are building an ecosystem around their data centers that will attract and keep enterprise clients.
Companies are going to build AI systems and it is not feasible for most companies to buy GPUs from Nvidia and develop their own infrastructure. They will look for companies like NBIS to provide all of that for them. They will use existing AIs such as GPT-6 Astra, Claude, etc, but they will also build their own proprietary AI systems, as well.
I think you're dead wrong that the data centers are the most risky sector in the AI ecosphere. The software is the most risky. If one AI fails or falls out of favor for some reason, people will start using another one. The datacenters don't care who is buying the compute, they are just going to provide it.
Robots, self driving cars, traffic control system, aircraft control systems, smart home systems, video editing programs, etc, all need compute capacity. Hell, I see video games of the future adapting on the fly to give you scenarios that you've never seen before. It's going to get crazy.
We are just getting started.
That does not mean the NBIS is a guaranteed winner, but it is the one best positioned for what comes next.

You really think so? There hasn’t been enterprise software choice for decades. Companies hung on to their COBOL servers for a half century and then married Oracle for the next fifty.
Now you see NVidia doing the same thing they did to the GPU market with Hugging Face. They’re going to optimize the open source models to their own chips.

I'm not referring to enterprise software packages.
I'm referring to anything software, especially the AIs. What if Grok fell out of favor because of a bad PR event. People would just start to use Claude, or some other software. There is no shortage of software or AIs.
The shortage is with the compute power, for the forseeable future.
The reference to enterprise users isn't about SAP or Oracle. It's about large corporations developing their own AI systems and using AI to cut costs on tasks that are labor intensive. Those are the enterprises I am referring to. It has nothing to do with the traditional enterprise software packages. In fact, companies like Oracle and SAP are trying their damndest to use AI to help clients use and customize their products.

Could be, but the scarcity is with the data centers, not the software.

I was glad to see that NBIL finally got options..I have been buying around $20 and selling when it goes over $25 because I couldn't do CC's. Noticed today I was able to do a $30 CC 9/18 and $40 CC 10/16 with $340 in premiums. Now have why cost basis at $16 for 400 shares. Also up over $4K on my shares that I have been trading. I and enjoying NBIS price action. Thanks BB88.
