When you do decide to take profits and roll into another one? So let’s say in 3 weeks it’s $115 and you have Oct 31 $100. Do you sell and pick a longer dated one? Would you have sold that earlier? Trying to understand the strategy of timing of selling profitable options
Again, that becomes a personal preference. I held on to my extremely profitable $70c 11/21 for a while. They eventually turn into a stock though, because a dollar up in price is basically what I got per contract....That being said, it is conservative to play that way and worked out well.
The other 3 ways I think about it, is I could reinvest that money $ for $ at a higher strike price (say $90c today) and would earn much more on the upticks. OR, I could buy the same amount of calls I had at $70 strike, for the $90 strike, but pull in quite a bit more cash and my upside would be similar. The last way, which I chose, was to go out of the Money, and use the same $$ I would have on the $90 calls, but get the $120s with many more contracts. Much higher risk, much bigger reward but same $ value.
Apologies if that is confusing, I am trying to simplify wording that is very confusing, while adding in a strategy component lol

I had a $100 CC expiring today. Feel very lucky and blessed it stayed below.

Nice! Just a Chateau St Michelle here. Heading out to a nice dinner shortly after kids Dojo….probably do a Silver Oak for a nice week of celebration.

Well done!
My dumbass sold five CCs today at 97.5 and 98.5.
This was very early on.
I thought it was free money.
I covered two at a loss, rolled three to October $115s.
Don’t care! Made up for it elsewhere.
Lesson learned. Maybe.

AMD is a solid company. i feel they are going to bounce back soon.

I agree .. AMD is gonna do great if not comparable to nbis over next 5 yrs. I sold most of mine recently and hope i dont regret it. Just wanted to ride nbis right now

Just totaled up my shares.
Playing options have allowed me to build a total position of 1,791.
Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that would happen this year.
Edit: 91 are in my Wife’s Roth and merely a result of saving and investing.

Me neither. Im trying not to overthink it. If this holds, which i think it will, this will change my life trajectory.
Is this your biggest win BB?

I thought AUPH would be about like this.
But I’m glad I finally gave up on it and went big here.

Thanks but I kick myself I had a blind spot to this thread for months - honestly I think for the longest time I confused it with the MVIS thread which I had reviewed and passed on so I just ignored it (to my own peril). Oh well - live and learn!

So you're saying I should dump my 1,500 shares of AUPH at ~8.25/share and grab another 100 shares of NBIS
