Did you sell your 11/21 100s for NBIS?

Yes. Early, but I can't complain.
5@ 8.90
10 @ 9.10
15 @ 9.25 (trading account)

Sorry, those were $110s not 100s

Congrats to all holding and making money!

Also bought 50 $105c 10/06 for $4.90

Oh boy, need another great week next week!

Wow, got lucky on the timing of my transfers of $70c 11/21 to $120c 11/21 and $105c 10/06…..

Sold off all my $70c 11/21 and had to do something with that money, felt right. Crazy thing, is in the timing at the end of the day, that was a $4800 profit didn’t take it and holding to double up again.

Retiring on my trades with this NVDA, MRVL, CRWV and IREN

Said it before and will say it again, used to day trade on the side with a goal to profit $600-$1000/day. Crazy sniffing off a $4800 trade within 15 mins hoping for a $200,000 profit on those options alone

Can you explain/share your method on buying calls. I'm on the other end of it... selling. How do you determine what to buy and how far out?

That is a very loaded question. Mostly has to do with a feeling of a stock and an understanding of what the value should and could be with a stock. You also have to consider your risk tolerance.

That is my father’s strategy too. I’ve gotten him into this stock right before the MSFT announcement. He’s retired fat dumb and happy (25 years ago from IBM and played AAPL options well years ago, his license plates for his cars are AAPL1, AAPL 2 and AAPL3) and loves the options strategies all around. He’s actually mad I didn’t bring him in when I got into this at $36 he’s also an Auburn MBA so screw him

quote:

It’s honestly a feeling and again what I think can happen in the next 12 months. Do a lot of research, then you just get a feel for a stock. I’ve been very lucky and fortunate on NBIS (and other stocks that I don’t discuss here) like I did 15 years ago with dry shipping stocks.
Ironically, I’m kicking myself for not converting those $70c 11/21 earlier…..woulda made a killing

Doesn’t always work out, and I’m also very vulnerable to something tragic happening….

My risk is huge, but largely playing with their money right now and running it up. I’m more educated on it than I’ve ever been and the one thing I can tell you, is that there is no right answer. I’m an open book here and if people follow, that is their decision, but I don’t recommend following my strategy because everyone has different goals and financial situations.

That being said, I play earning date calls, short term calls and longer term calls. Especially with this stock.

ETA: my father actually sold a lot of his calls for cash on selling calls for $105-$113 next week. He’s hoping it closes right around $105 next Friday…I’m hoping it closes at $115

When you do decide to take profits and roll into another one? So let’s say in 3 weeks it’s $115 and you have Oct 31 $100. Do you sell and pick a longer dated one? Would you have sold that earlier? Trying to understand the strategy of timing of selling profitable options

Because of earnings and the likelihood of another deal, plus raised awareness and general hype, I think $140 is reasonable.
