MO sometime in the 90’s after the tobacco lawsuits. First trade I ever did not in retirement account or company investment plan. Never traded prior because of how trading was done before online became a thing. Thank you TD Waterhouse.

My great grandad left me Southern Company stock in 1986. It was either $500 or $1000. I haven't touched it and reinvest the dividends.

How has everyone's total returns on these dividend payers compared to the S&P500 long term?
Do you hold them in taxable brokerage? If so has tax drag been a significant issue?

My grandparents gifted me some McKesson (MCK) shares in mid 1990s when it was hovering around $20 share. Closed today at $900.

Here’s the thing. If you were in it for awhile before it went to current prices, most of the dividends have offset the fall in price. I’m only down 5% in BITO and it will rebound around October the four year Bitcoin cycle. I’m in around 16 a share so I think when it goes back to 20 I’ll sell. Just remember when it rebounds we will also be getting dividends like we should again
