I'm pissed right now and need to vent. Just finished taking the Mindtap quiz fro MADM 752. For the 2nd week in a row I got a 53.33%! I've never gotten a score this low on a multiple choice quiz until this class. I've taken quizzes where I didn't study at all and done better. Before taking the quiz I reviewed the chapters again and used the Study Aid she introduced this week after some of us complained last week. It did not help at all. The Mindtap questions are just formatted in a very odd way. Too many of the questions have multiple answers that are at least somewhat correct. They also ask the questions in a way that is different from the material so it feels like you're taking a quiz on a subjct you didn't study for. But I did, that's the thing! I am getting 100% on the Moodle quizzes. It's this damn Mindtap question bank that sucks. Anyone have simialr experiences with Mindtap quizzes in any classes?

MADM752 - No, these are the weirdest mindtap quizzes ever. I found her videos helped me do a little better this week, but nowhere near as well as with an actual test of knowledge rather than a bank of trick questions.

All I said was that her instructions were confusing and she may want to consider changing them in the future.
It was cordial. So, I thought.
Her instructions said to complete an assessment and a assignment. When I went to Wiley Plus I completed a 2 diagnostics and 2 assignments. There was never such thing labeled as an assessment. I honestly thought I had completed the required tasks for the week.
I'm sure it wasn't me that caused her to react the way she did. I know of another student who was given a zero on his week 2 discussion due to a timing issue. He wasn't happy either.

Nolamom, thanks for commiserating with me. The questions are written in a way to confuse. Not helpful to actual learning. Many of them are written to choose the "most right" answer. The right answer isn't clear. I'm not sure how I'm going to improve. I listened to her lecture videos. I guess I'll have to watch them multiple times.

I haven't taken the quiz yet, but I was hoping the study aid would help. I guess it's no help either. Now I'm afraid to take the quiz. And you are totally right socal77, there are multiple correct answers. But having only 15 mins doesn't give you much time to think them through. I pray her 50 point final isn't like the mindtap quizzzes because idk where my grade will stand. Right now I am just praying that I make at least a "B".

MBAstudent, I'm with you in hoping the final is not in Mindtap.
We all agree is the style of the questions. They're written to confuse. If you've studied the material, I expect questions where there is one clearly correct answer.
I'd ask you and Nolamom and anyone else in our class to please email her with your concerns. I emailed her after I took the quiz and saw my score yesterday and she's already replied to me. Thanks Nolamom. I like Dr. Knotts. She seems very sharp and sincere. I'm just hoping if she hears from a few of us she'll realize she needs to do something about the style of those Mindtap questions.

I sent her an email, fingers crossed! Even if the answer is a single tip on how to prep or eliminate incorrect answers, I'd welcome it at this point!

This weeks MKT 701 quiz was the most straight forward in my opinion. Just scored a 58/60

Dr. Knotts replied with tips about how to study, which were exactly the same (except for the addition of flash cards) as the study habits I already explained that I am doing now. The only lights at the end of the tunnel are the extra credit possibilities (19 points up for grabs in the course) and the fact that there will be another study guide for module 4.
I do think she gave one hint when she said to pay close attention to the exact way things are worded in the textbook, so I'll be reading and re-reading to try to memorize sentence structure and precise turns of phrase for everything in the study guide this week.
Unfortunately I still don't think she is getting the point. I am demonstrating full comprehension of the concepts in every other part of the class, but the quizzes are a test of something else. She needs to define her goals for the outcomes of this course. Is it about learning the information and being capable of putting in your own words or is it about training people to memorize a catechism?

B)safety
C) achievement d) affiliation
D) esteem
I knew the answers was C. (Even though it's not possible because those two are different!) It's hard enough studying this overly complicated terminology. At least copy/paste the test bank into moodle properly. I did well, made a 92, but the lack of technical proficiency with moodle is really annoying. You're testing me on crazy specific terminology surrounding common sense ideas, but the exam isn't even entered properly? OK, rant over. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
