I think Thursday at noon is when she would post the grades from the previous week.

Ah ok, I appreciate it. She actually just sent an email out that grades would be available after midnight.

When will we be able to see the schedule/ available courses for the summer and beyond? I'm only able to pull up the spring. Am I doing something wrong?

I plan on applying to LSUS soon. I got accepted at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, but their foundation courses aren't covered by financial aid. I'm looking to apply before the end of the week.

Anybody know if BADM 700 and 701 are covered by financial aid? Also, would anybody recommend taking 2 courses in the same session?

Ok. Thank you for the reply. Ready to get this first test done and over with so I will know what to expect going forward. I am nervous though being that all we have is 4 test worth 25% each. NO PRESSURE!!

That is helpful thanks. I guess I'm also wondering when you will be able to see the schedule and available instructors on the myLSUS site. I was trying to make a comprehensive list of courses and instructors, which to take solo, to pair, etc. in order to best prepare a schedule and whatnot.

This is what I have so far. This is obviously not all inclusive and may need adjusting.

Tim Vines - FIN 701, FIN 730
Michael Meeks - MADM 760, MADM 751
Tim Shaughnessy - ECON 705
Fabio Ambrosio - ACCT 701
William Bigler - MADM 760
Sanjay Menon - MADM 701, MADM 710
Karen James - MKT 701
Fazel Hayati - ISDS 702
Sibylle Mabry - MADM 701, MADM 720
Draper Wright - ACCT 701
Tami Knotts - MADM 752
Kenneth Kungu - MADM 710
Chengho Hsieh - FIN 701, FIN 710, FIN 720
Binshan Lin - ISDS 702
Felice Williams - MADM 701, MADM 715
Jo Ann McGee - ACCT 701

Hello everyone,

I have got accepted in the program and I shall start in Spring AP2. I need your kind advice regarding the course(s) that I shall start with this semester. I will also appreciate if someone who has finished the program or near the finish line can share with us the best plan for the entire program assuming that we can take the two sessions of each semester. This will be very helpful for all the new students as a strong reference point.

Almost finished. One course left. I started out with MKT 701 paired with MADM 760. I did 2 classes per module on three different occasion (6 total classes) wasn't easy, but it's conceivable. I don't recommend taking Econ 705 and ACCT 701 together. That was brutal.

My two electives were:

MADM 751 and MADM 752. Thought they were great.

Hope this helps.

Meeks also teached MADM 752 and Bigler is no longer at LSUS.

They also have a BADM 790 elective that seems to be a topical course... i.e. it's not always the same subject material.

I took BADM 790 as an elective, I think the same teacher I had (carol ptak) is teaching several different topics for some of the sessions. She's a good teacher but required a ton of busy work (weekly quizzes with multiple answers per question, required 3 books to be read with quizzes on each, 2 case study papers and a regular paper on one of the books, a recorded 10 minute presentation to be submitted, and a cumulative final). Took her class along with MADM 701 and literally almost had a heart attack. I had no life during those 7 weeks.

Just got the grade from Williams for MADM 701 module 1 assignment and it's literally the lowest grade I have ever received in my entire life: 72. I am in my 3rd term with a 4.0 and graduated with my bachelors from Tulane with a 4.0 as well. At a total loss.

Email her or the academic assistant and find out what you did wrong. This class will drive you nuts as it's very subjective.

I sent a note to both seeking detailed guidance. I'm hoping Dr. Williams will overrule the coach as it truly isn't pathetic enough to deserve such a poor grade and the coach said nothing at all about 1/2 of the assignment.

Trust me. It was like pulling teeth at times. I made an A, but it was tedious to say the least.

Just got my module one grade and made a 97. Pretty pumped about. I have a 4.0 as well but coupling this with FIN 720 will put that to the test. Email the academic coach if you didn't receive any feedback.

Gotta take my first quiz in FIN701 with Vines. I just feel kinda lost. I am following the advice I got to focus on his Study Guide and I attended all the zoom sessions. It just still seems like it's all swimming around in my head. I haven't taken a financial class since my undergrad in the late 80's.

Even though MKT701 with James and MADM701 with Williams was a TON of busy work, it had a structure of exactly what was expected. I think I'll end up liking Vines' style but initially it's lack of specific requirements is intimidating.

Any insights on going into the first quiz would be appreciated. I have a PDF version of the book so I hope that will help in being able to do a fast search to find info on questions. Any thoughts?

Use the practice guide that Vines gives you and make 100% sure that all are answered properly. Make sure that you attend the webinars (live chat) that he does during the week. Formulate a comprehensive study guide and make sure you answer every question. He is great at giving partial credit. You won't get every question right, but nothing wrong with at least stating your answer and getting partial credit. Some questions are more conceptual than typical math problem formula focused. Hope this helps.

SoCal, I am right there with you on taking the FIN 701 test this weekend. I can do all the math and not really concerned with that part, it is the qualitative questions that will be asked. Hopefully after this test if I have not bombed it to bad, I will be able to pull out a "B" since we will know what he is expecting. Numerous people I have reached out to have emphasized the need to know the Reading Guide and don't stray from it in the book.

I just finished Vines test. Was in the same boat as you. Knew how to do all the quantitative math problems but was completely overwhelmed with the amount of material for the short answer portion. Go figure I got 9 short answer questions and one formula based math problem.
Some of them were pretty vague. It was very stressful. I got down to just over 5 minutes left and still had 2 questions to answer. I just threw some shite on there and hoped for partial credit.
Good luck with it.

Good for you! Who was your academic coach? And would you be willing to email me yours so I can see what "good" looks like? I received no guidance and my coach is unresponsive.
