Does anyone have the book for MKT 701 they could email over? I am taking this class soon and I would like to read through it once before I do. I have the PowerPoints and realize the class may no longer use a book but even an old one will do. Thanks a ton! Email to megamanx268@gmail.com and I have most other books if you have a need.

@Craig Assignment 4 confused me as to what I was rewriting. I followed the 2.2 example and narrative exactly and got an A on the paper. Confused or not, I can follow a template lol.

And yes! Finish line is so close!. I am definitely not ahead in class this term but I am managing to keep up. 2 more weeks

Anybody else out there not doing as well as they would like in Econ 705 with Shaughnessy? I am holding on to a B, but barely. Not being able to know what I got wrong on the video quiz and self-assessment makes it almost impossible to know what to go back and study again before the end of module quiz. The posted module overall scores let me know that I am not alone. But unsure if any of those folks are active in this forum....

Who is the professor? James write/wrote her own book when I was in her course and sent it out in chapters. I will have to look through my stuff from the beginning of the year to see if I held on to it.

I’ve got a C (which I’m fairly disappointed in) for the same reasons you state. Have only done the first two video quizzes in Module Five this far, so maybe I can pull it up...

I have Darrat but anything will do, should all be similar at least. Would certainly appreciate it!

@FlaglerAlum2017
Thanks for the info. If I can pair 702 up easily, then I can finish one semester earlier.

@DarthPasta
Sorry for the late reply, but the test was very easy. Second one was marginally harder than the first, but I actually did better on the second one (because I accidentally missed the last two readings assignments on the first test)

@trulo911
I think you might be confusing ISDS 705 with ISDS 710. 705 is a joke, the teacher is on autopilot and the course material has nothing to do with Data Analytics, it's more of a 100 level Information Systems class. It's extremely easy with just a little bit of studying, some prep work and a smart "cheat sheet". Big tip - Use 8 point font, no line spacing, and narrow margins. I read the material on a secondary screen (dual monitor, tablet, or phone) and type notes onto a word doc. I recommend typing the notes rather than copy and paste as it should reinforce the material. Focus on definitions of things, the test is just regurgitation. Once you've typed everything, use minimum margins and a small 8 point font (ie Calibri is better than Times), then get rid of any line spacing, etc. Lastly if you can't fit everything, then start deleting extraneous words and get rid of "white space"

710 is said to be a killer, but apparently the biggest complaints seem to have been the teacher, poor organization, and test questions that don't seem to match the material... not the actual material itself.

@WDE251
I'm spending a lot of time making double and triple sure that I'm getting the video quizzes and self assessments completely correct. Watch and re-watch the parts of the video and you should be able to get it eventually. It's a lot more theory than end of module, so youtube and google also help (sometimes a plainly written definition is all you need). Some have only taken me about 30 minutes, but many have been 3-4 hours. I think you can definitely get an A on every video quiz and self assessment if you put in the time, which has been key for me to keep my grade up. The end of module assessments are MUCH harder and I typically spend half a day or more on it and I still haven't been able to Ace them. The practice questions often help me when I'm stuck because you can work backwards from the answer.

@Darth Glad to know I'm not alone. I plan to rewatch the lecture videos again before attempting the end of module exam. The homework seems relatively straight forward but I've said that before and struggled on the test. For me it boils down to, this is a course where I need classroom instruction and a textbook. Love the lecture videos, but my learning style on this needs more.

@Baroquen Thanks for the feedback! I am concerned with the end of module tests being 60% of our grade though. I'm closely tracking using his grade calculator. If i can keep my head above water, I can maintain my B. But only if i can improve my scores on the end of module tests *crosses fingers*

Good luck WDE. If you need a textbook, he has recommended one previously. I can look up the title if you still want it and maybe you can Amazon it. I'll admit I've spent a ton of time struggling through the work until I got it.

I highly recommend for the last two modules, do all of the video watching and rewatching over and over during the quizzes and self assessment. Like I've spent 3-4 hours EACH on most of the quizzes and self assessments, but gotten all extremely high scores. Although it's only 40% of the score, it's pulled me up slightly more than a full grade above my EOM assessment scores.

I took it - did well. If you can complete the problems from the chapters and from the practice test you should be good. Use excel to save a TON of time. I worked all the problems 3 times before the exam and there were no surprises.

I would greatly appreciate the title of the book for ECON 705.

Yep, took exam 3 in FIN 710 mid-week. I didn't have time to build the excel files that I wanted going into it, so I was having to work a lot of it on the fly in excel. I ran out of time on the last question, so I missed that one. Otherwise, it wasn't too bad. I hear the last one is easier, so I'm looking forward to putting this class in the books soon!

I have to do a bit of prep, then finish my ISDS 702 quiz here, a bit behind this week because of constant travel. It looks like with his drop the lowest week, I will be done with that one next weekend. Heading into the home stretch on this session with both classes in the mid-A range, so I'm feeling pretty good.

The news about Darrat doing an MKT 701 session made my day, I went and snagged one of the last 3 slots and dropped James. Just FIN 701 and MKT 701 to go and this degree is a wrap. In fact, getting into Darrat's session made my next 7 weeks!

@char It is Managerial Economics by Thomas and Maurice. It's a McGraw-Hill textbook.

At this point, it is a little too late in the game for me to go the textbook route. Probably should have considered it around week 2. But now, I am just going to muscle through. @baroqen gave some great tips that I will use for the home stretch.

Unfortunately though, and I may be beating a dead horse, without the ability to review the quizzes and self assessments, I don't know what I don't know. That's my main struggle.
