I can see that being a problem if you're watching it in the little embedded window but I find it to be perfectly clear when it's full screen. Is that how you're watching it?
No, I'm watching it full screen on a 34" widescreen monitor.

Ok, so my last two terms from now to graduation look like this:
Fall AP1:
MADM 701 (F. Williams)
FIN 701 (T. Vines)
Fall AP2:
MADM 760 (M. Meeks)
ISDS 710 (M. Darrat)
Is this doable? Do I need to reshuffle? I don't want to push out my graduation date but I also don't want to be in a rough situation.

Just starting the program in a few weeks. I have yet to see any class post textbook/course information; however, users on this forum talk about already having powerpoints or course material for classes. Is this just passed along from student to student?

@WDE251 Sorry, I should have mentioned this earlier. Try to send Dr. Shaughnessy an email asking what you've been getting wrong. He might take a day or two, but he will probably go through your previous work and let you know what to work on.
edit: I forgot one last thing that I hope will help. The beauty of multiple choice is that there have been a number of times in this class that I didn't exactly know the right answer, but could still get the question right. This is because I could figure out the WRONG answers. This is where the theory becomes important again. For instance, a question might have two answers that say "Slope is upward" and two are "slope is downward". If you know that the slope is supposed to be upward, then you can ignore two answers right off the top and work on the last two. There have been a few questions where I struggled with the numbers until I realized that only one answer fit the entire theory.
Hope that will help. It's been a real struggle for me with the online format and not being able to have traditional things like study groups or even just other students to chat with after class about the test/homework, etc. Of course, the format has also been a blessing, since I'm nowhere near Shreveport.

Try to send Dr. Shaughnessy an email
I typically ask them what they think I need to review based on the questions I got incorrect on my exam, though there has been a few occasions when I've asked how to solve a specific problem that I can recall from memory. They've given me helpful feedback every time across multiple courses.

@Marek76 are you taking MKT701 and FIN701 together for Fall AP1? I am currently registered for both but worried about the workload!
Posted on 8/6/18 at 11:58 am to FlaglerAlum2017
Yep, they are my last two classes. If I don't do that, it will be Spring AP1 when I graduate due to core class schedule rotation. I can live through 7 weeks of hell to be done 5 months earlier. The shift from James to Darrat will make this much more bearable, plus I think I can leverage a lot of FIN710 into FIN701.

I am late with enrolling this term and the only options left are:
madm730 Menon
mkt705 Kim, Sung
fin701 Choi, Deawoung
From previous posters, Menon doesn't seem like everyone's first choice but I can't find anything on the other two instructors available. Anybody had the other two professors before or do you think they're new?

I would suggest focusing on Core Classes if you can, because there are always options available for electives. The core classes will be on a specific rotation and can easily set your graduation back by 2 terms. In fact, the best advice I have for people starting the program is to sit down and plot out your entire program based on the published rotation and availability of classes, compatible class pairings and desired graduation timeline.

KG,
Enroll in one of those and hold tight for the payment deadline. Folks will be kicked and you can slide into a core course.

@jrduck everything will post in moodle. Typically on the first day, although some professors post the syllabus and other materials about a week prior.
@baroqen and @diedaily THANK YOU for all of the tips and tricks. I should have asked for help 4 weeks ago! I do follow the process of elimination trick. Typically I can eliminate 1-2 answers by, like you said, understanding the theory. I am going to email him. That's a great suggestion that honestly didnt cross my mind. Possibly he can provide a lightbulb moment of what I'm not understanding.
Going to kick myself if it's something really simple lol

@Marek76 Same situation. If I don't double up my graduation will be pushed to Spring AP1...I am just so nervous about the workload.

Read through the boards to work out the schedule. I'm planning to double up all but two classes, which puts me at Summer AP 1.
You basically want to either pair up the brutal classes with a light load class, or take them singly. For instance, based on what I've read here, the very heavy load classes are supposed to be MKT 701 and MADM 701 followed by ISDS 710 and MADM 760. So far, I believe the lightest load class is said to be ISDS 705. Therefore those heavier load courses are probably best paired with some easier electives or taken singly for those of us with busier work and home lives. I'll also state that Econ 705 has been pretty moderate-high load for me, so I wouldn't recommend pairing it with MADM 760 or ISDS 710 unless you're good with the type of work involved. That said, I'm also aiming for fast graduation + honors, which is why I'm a bit more cautious. If I just wanted the fastest graduation possible, I'd double and possibly even triple (if they allow it) every session.

Oh, and I just dropped by AP1 FIN 701 with Vines and AP2 MADM 760 with Meeks so one spot open in each of those. I was originally pairing up ISDS 710 and MADM 760, but I would literally have no classes for Spring AP2, so might as well split these two heavyweights.
Looks like he MKT 701 with Darrat filled up fast and now there's another one with a name I don't remember seeing on the forums, Nancy Albers.

I really did not think that ISDS710 was a heavy load. In fact, it was pretty much 6-hr a week commitment. Read a case study, do a little excel homework assignment, write a case study analysis that was 3-4 pages. Kick off a couple of discussion posts each week on a topic. It was 4 homework, 4 case studies, 5 discussion forums (2-3 posts each) and a final exam. The kicker was just that the final exam was so different than the rest of the course, it was a bit of a blindside.

For those of you considering taking the foundation 500 classes, make sure that they are graduate-level classes; if they aren't they won't show up on you degree as degree credit hours.
The credit hours may not be an issue for most people, but I thought that I would mention it since some of the jobs that I have applied for over the last few weeks have specifically stipulated MBA with 36 credit hours.
