I still have my sheets (most are just plug & chug) so if anyone would like them for reference just send me your email & I'll forward them to you.
Thanks Roanoke.

I guess my problem is that I just cannot look at the study guide without reading the chapters, because I get SO LOST without knowing the context of what the heck he's talking about. Maybe some of you have more of a finance background than I do, but it takes me a few passes to understand what is going on!
I agree- it is EXTREMELY difficult with a full-time job to keep up on the material.
I seriously thought I failed last exam and ended up with an A... so.... here's to hoping I can see that through for the next few exams.

Regarding the ACCT exam, I'm about to just take the damn thing later. I feel like what I've studied and looked at problem wise is all I can do.

After taking that practice ACCt exam....I will wait to take it. Damn, I thought that thing was hard. I got most of them right but it definitely took my much longer than 2 minutes per question

ashl3yc0x,
I read the chapters for all of Vines classes. I found his writing style hard to follow and comprehend. I thought the book did a better job. Like Winchester and others have said, I used the text as supplement and reinforcement to the material in the guide. If it was something that was not mentioned at all in the guide, I didn't read that section of the text. The guide was easier to read & understand only after I read the chapters. What works for some may not work for you or others... do whatever makes you feel comfortable enough with the material to get the grade you desire.

Are these excel cheat sheets different than the toolkits?
I've just been using those for all the hmwk and practice problems.

(Also, the toolkits frequently use absolute cell references which can make them tricky to edit or to copy and paste into a new sheet for use in another problem.)

Did you tackle the exam yet, Jeaux?
I might give it go tonight if I get home early enough.

I completely agree. It is kind of difficult to comprehend the reading guides without first reading or at least skimming through the chapters in the book.
What's the point of a reading guide if you end up having to read most of what's in the chapters first?
But I got a lot better at picking out the sections to pay attention to in Module 2. I read one section at a time in the reading guide and then skimmed the sections of the book to figure out which section in the book corresponded with what he mentions in the reading guide. It actually takes a bit of time to do this, but I still end up saving time by not reading unnecessary text.
P.S. Is anyone else finding there is no time to review your work in the allotted time for FIN701 exams? I barely finished on time for the Module 1 exam, and the same thing happened for Module 2.
