You are literally the first owner I've seen on this board over the past 2 years say they didn't like it. It is impossible to please everyone so it is expected some don't care for it, just crazy it took this long to find someone who didn't like it.
All in all its a good car for the majority, I won't call it great. I've talked to a few folks who have the same gripes as me, but after observing the online sentiment regarding this vehicle there's a large social following behind it. The 3-row, mid-size SUV market segment grew extremely fast. So much so you see Jeep create a 3-row version of the Grand Cherokee to get a piece of it. Poor mini vans can't catch a break

Never even heard of this Kia until today, then by chance I saw a new one (temp tags) while out today. Not bad looking, however not the best looking either. To each is to own, but I would not pay over MSRP for it.

Bought a 2021 SX under MSRP... you have to go out of town and have it shipped. There's a web site that lists all Tellurides made/not sold in a sortable sheet and lists what dealer has or will have it.
Work the phone and you can get what you want without ordering - FYI, they're cheaper in areas where other manufacturers have plants.

TigerTatorTos is actually my partner. We really like the car together. He's a sweetheart

we paid for my wife's Telluride in August 2021 now
Things did not improve for the buyer from August 2020 to 2021. I have no confidence I could have found the same deal 3 months ago. It was pure luck when I did.

Then probably won’t be buying a vehicle in today’s market.
I bought 2 this year. While not the deals of the past, I paid less than MSRP for both of them.
You have to shop around and be patient.

There are too many safety features and controls that take control away from the operator. Something as simple as unlocking or locking the car doors when and how you want to. There are several things that give you convenience or ease at the expense of control and decision making power. I guess it makes since then that our lazy populace would swarm to it

Traded a Lexus RX350 for a Palisade. Prefer it in every way to the Lexus. They wanted 5K market adjustment. I laughed at them and said I'd keep the Lexus. They ended up selling it to me for 1K off MSRP. This was this past March. Since then inventory has gotten tighter and they are not budging of their cap adjustment. Still, a nice vehicle that I enjoy driving. It is the cousin tot he Telluride.

That's what we have. Bought in July last year and could get more for it now if we wanted.
I had to fly somewhere to pick up mine because it was much cheaper there

I'm kinda embarrassed to say what we paid for my wife's Telluride in August 2021 now
what models did you guys buy at that price? I bought my wife the S (the step below SX) and we paid significantly more than y'all
I paid $49K for a 2021 SX-Prestige in January. Worth every penny, wife loves it and I could sell it for that price or close to it right now if I wanted too

Disagree. It’s a solid middle class modern vehicle with enough room for a medium sized family.

I am just talking to Kia quality, maybe it has gotten better.
If I paid a premium it would be for something built in Japan.

What, in your opinion, does paying a premium equal?

You cannot. I've done research and tried several times. These features can't be adjusted. That said, they aren't really features, but functions.

I agree, they hit a market segment that was empty by offering a 3-row mid-size suv that offered some of the same luxury features as a full-size model, at a much lower price point. That doesn't change how it was marketed and the large social support it has from its popularity.

Which ones are you referring to? I turned off the lane-keeping assist and a few others because I didn't like it either. A few others I've left on and gotten used to.
One I can't seem to turn off is the beeping if you turn on your blinker while someone's in your blindspot. I like that it warns me, and it's probably saved me a few times, but other times it picks up an obstacle by mistake and the beeping might wake up one of my kids.
All in all, I love mine. Smooth ride, quiet, feels luxury, decent gas mileage, good size for most of my needs. Consumer reports still raves about it and it blows everything else in that category out the water in their rankings.
As others have said, if you want a telluride, paying below MSRP just isn't really in the cards in today's market. I shopped around a lot. There were some dealers in Texas that wanted about 15k+ over MSRP if I recall correctly. Ended up getting mine right at MSRP or maybe 1,000 over, can't remember. Found it at Sterling Kia in Lafeyette. SX prestige, black copper, dune brown leather seats.

I saw a 2019 going for 48K in Texas
Couldn't believe it. Was a pretty slick looking vehicle but I couldn't imagine paying that for a 2 year old Kia.

not going to read the whole thread just say that i bought my wife the SX AWD at fort bend kia just outside houston last december for MSRP. worked with the online salesmen to put in an order with the georgia plant, waited 2 months and then drove in to pick it up and brand it back to austin
Posted on 12/14/21 at 9:32 pm to TexasTiger34

That’s who I ended up going with. They’re saying 6-8 months now, but I’m willing to wait it out.
