Musk's comments lend itself to greater speculation. What exactly would see happen?

Yup definitely could be a victim of it’s time.

And if they didn’t have $100M in cash on hand from the Koch placement that would be my #1 concern. But they’ve got enough cash to operate til 2030 and if the FEED looks good then raising the capital for the FID will be no problem. So the usual risks of a pre rev company aren’t nearly as prevalent. I think that’s something that is being undervalued. Koch just gave them $100,000,000 in cash. That bank roll alone just about supports their current market cap ha. Forget project NPVs (which if you’re keeping track is about $4B with a $15k/ton lithium carbonate price which equates to a $20/share price….ish)

There are a lot of tail winds from the government "climate change" push for EV's and for domestic production of rare earths, too.

SLI really needs to be pushed into the green arena.

It seems like it would take a great deal of time to put something like a partnership together but I don't know.

Maybe inspiring existing companies to greater performance would be a good thing for shareholders.

This is interesting

I wonder if SLI is potentially doing a different non-binding deal.

Very interesting, considering this move follows a near identical deal with Hanwa in March.

Yeah but doesn’t this mean that lac is beating sli to the punch by closing these deals? So overall this would be bad for sli unless they can lock down a few customers?

Or Am I misunderstanding the significance and meaning of this deal?

I think it shows how serious the Lake people are about publicity and continuing to establish momentum. It seems possible to me they might use that increase in share price to raise money.

RE: SLI it still seems to me everything hinges on the timeline for them actually producing Lithium. I hope we see them make noises about either partnerships or significant production soon

Publicity.

It may be a bit. May be working on an exclusive deal to get all their production or already have in hand. I'd rather them wait until closer to production and then drop it.

I wish SLI would go ahead and process their lithium and sell it simply because for all of many who aren't looking under the hood, it would provide a complete baseline.
