He does this in every bitcoin thread. Keeps pointing out why it is so bad for being a currency yet no one on here ever says that it is to be used to transact as a currency.

And he will continue to use this talking point despite being made aware that no one is calling for it to be a currency here.

It's a speculation scam that will eventually end badly.

Again, we've heard this for 15 years. How long does it have to survive, and continue to set new ATHs, for it to no longer be speculation?

Longer than this, evidently.

You should know by now they’re going to berate you for implying that BTC is a form of currency.
They’re just going to say “it’s not that, it’s not this, etc.
They’ll never say what they actually think it is, they’ll only try to correct you for what they think it is not.

People still think crypto is something other than digital coins that we trade and hope to turn a profit on?

Eta: As I was typing this, I got a scam call and voicemail from “Coinbase” because somebody is trying to log in to my account, which doesn’t exist

Agreed

As for coinbase, I own that stock. For those unaware, among other things, the app is used to make payments with crypto including bitcoin.

Here’s what they say in their literature

“Coinbase Business, a “crypto operating account” for small businesses which allows accepting customer payments in crypto currencies, paying vendors, employees and partners, and trading and managing crypto currencies. It also provides streamlined accounting reconciliation into platforms like QuickBooks and Xero“

Shame some of you dabbling in bitcoin or other crypto currencies don’t realize there is usage as currency. coinbase can help with that.

Glad you chimes in despite your promise to avoid me. Maybe too hard to pass up?

Anywho- watched an interesting segment early morning today.
Summary-With advances in quantum computing there is a great deal of concern on hacking crypto currency accounts.

Just fyi.

Even in a best case scenario where it makes another ATH it won't be with the huge percentage increases like we've seen in the past. All of the big money has already been made in this thing.

It's got a ton of downside risk. It doesn't produce anything.

I guess some of you are true believers that the world is eventually going to adopt Bitcoin as the reserve currency.

One thing that seems obvious at this point is that Bitcoin has become correlated with risky stock market assets.

Gold looks that way too right now but we'll see how it behaves if the crash gains momentum.

Correct, everything about our daily life is in jeopardy if quantum becomes a reality. No more bank accounts, stock portfolios, gambling, etc.

Yes and that’s a good point

It was supposed to be a better “store of value” which would lead me to believe that it counters some of the risky stocks.

I think Bitcoin and tech stocks have been drawing investment from mostly the same pools of capital for some time now.

7-10 years ago that probably wasn't the case. Crypto investing was segregated from stock market investing back then.

Socialist utopia Venezuela lasted about 15 years before it started crashing. When I was in college my professors pointed to it as a model for how the U.S. should be run.

Bernie Madoff ran his firm as a Ponzi scheme for over twenty years.

That's just two examples off the top of my head.

Tether just printed 1B USDT and immediately bought BTC with it. Looks like the printer has been turned back on

CoinMarketCap

But this is not a fake market we promise
