Best way to sell a used car - One more question

I'm looking to sell my truck that is in excellent condition with ridiculously low mileage. Just wondering if any of you had advice. Has anyone ever used autotrader.com? I know many use craigslist but that place scares the hell out of me for some reason. I have sold one vehicle in the past using the old "Slap a for sale sign on it and park it in a high traffic area" method, but I can't do that this time as I will be using the vehicle until it is sold.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
ETA:
One other question, i still owe money on the loan for the truck. How do I make the transaction work as I don't have the title and would have to pay off the loan to get it correct? My old car that i sold was already paid off.
Thanks all.

As long as you deal with someone locally, selling your car on craigslist is no different than putting a for sale sign in the window, except lots more people will see it.

I sold mine with in a week for ask price- put an ad in the local NO news in wheels. What sucked was that I was still getting calls for the next 2 months about the car.

I also sold mine on craigslist
I would just meet in a public place to let someone look at it

I sold mine on Craigslist in less than an hour. Zero problems and had cash in hand.

Looks like craigslist may be the direction to go, thanks for all the responses.

I wouldn't buy your truck unless you had the title in hand.

That's what I figured too. So basically I'll have to wipe out my savings to pay off the loan and get the title in hopes selling it and replacing the money I took out. Sound about right? Any other ways around this? I guess it shouldn't be a problem. It just might take a little longer than I would like.

My bank will provide a copy of the title to have in hand when showing.
As long as you don't get an idiot, just have the guy who buys the truck write it directly to your bank.
ETA: What kind of truck?

2007 Nissan Xterra - Why?
Oh and I owe 11k on it but it is valued at around 16-17k.

The buyer would actually have to pay the bank for the vehicle. Most buyers would prefer title in hand, though.

Top of the line in mint condition and it only has 28k miles. That's just what Kelly blue book told me.

I am not sure if your interested, but Greg Robinson has a few months free since signing day that he could be your broker on this kind of deal. Man made 18,000 cash on selling his used car....and he may be able to get you an Iphone . good luck man
