Got an online quote from carmax to sell a car. I’m satisfied with the offer. Just wondering if once I show up they’ll try and lowball me based of some bs crap they say is wrong with the car or if they’ll stick to the quote. I was completely honest with my description of the car and it’s condition.

I sold a Silverado z71 couple years back and had zero problems, definitely would recommend. I didn’t do the online part, just drove up and they quoted and offer was good for 7 days.

Have you tried others as well? Vroom is giving my friend $4K more than Carmax for his Supra.

I sold my last car to them. That was quite a few years ago, but I found it a very easy thing to do. They offered a reasonable price (better than I would have gotten trading it in) and it was a quick and easy process. I'd definitely do it again.

I did. I sold a 325i that had a reverse transmission issue if on a slope. They test drove it, gave me an offer, I snatched it and bailed. It was fair, all things considered.

Heard a radio commercial with some nutty guy pledging he will beat CarMax offer for used vehicle guaranteed. Also the company will come pick your car up at your house

I’m in the bham Hoover area so carmax is nearby. Tried kbb, vroom and Edmunds as well. Carmax had best offer. Wasn’t expecting much based on age of car so I’m satisfied unless they try and screw me once I get there.

Was trading in my p/u for another one. CarMax gave me much more than the dealership. Was easy as could be.

I have gotten amazing offers on Toyotas & Hondas and miserable offers on GM cars.

I had an appraisal done there to try to create some leverage for a newer vehicle. Carmax appraised and offered more than the dealer would. It did appear they were ready to pay me the full appraisal amount right then and there. I do have a desirable truck for my region so they could easily turn it for more, however, if you have a less desirable vehicle I would expect to haggle, maybe.

Also check enterprise. They have entered the game also.

I’m about to be out of a lease and the value of the buyout is 18k and enterprise offered me 29k for the car.

Yes, got $2000 more than the dealer trade in offer, super easy , no typical dealer nonsense. Unlike most dealers the sale of your vehicle, and the price you get totally non-dependent on whether you are buying a car or not.

No shenanigans.

And both times I've used them they were the best offer, and that included the dealership I was purchasing the new vehicle at

One watch out is that they need to beat the dealer by a margin that takes into account the tax benefit of being part of the new car transaction. When selling to the dealer you get the sales tax savings in addition to the amount of the trade in.

Yes and I had a good experience. Their offer was very fair and actually higher than other dealerships offered me. As others have said, offer is good for 7 days. Was very easy, no hassle, no haggling BS.

Same. Offer was about 1500 more than any dealership.

They take pictures, send it off to corporate and give you an offer within 30 minutes and you walk out with a. Check in hand

Super easy, won’t make as much as selling private but there is literally ZERO bull shite to go through

Try GiveMeTheVin.com . If there interested in the car they will give a great offer. Then they will come to your house and pick up the car and write you a check. Easiest car selling experience of my life.
