QSR is the one currently saying the dividend won’t reinvest if I buy. Tried last night, thought maybe just error, but just tried again.

Not sure why. I tried a different stock and it says it will reinvest.

What am I missing ?

Edit: I mean you want the dividend to reinvest but the platform says it won’t.

When did you buy it? Vanguard can be a PITA switching on/off, and I think it’s connected to the settlement date.

You should be able to set your account to auto reinvest your dividend proceeds. I set mine to auto convert to cash, with the exception of my 401k. That one auto reinvests

I have some stock (held in Vanguard) in an American company that pays dividends. No matter what I try, the dividends just go to my cash account. When they build up, I go in and manually buy a share or two.

All my other stocks auto reinvest dividends. Not sure what the deal is with this one. Maybe they won’t sell fractions of shares or something.

It’s a multi stage process in Vanguard.
First they take the Canadian withholding, then they issue a partial dividend for the drip, then they issue another really small fractional amount which is much lower than the share price….which is the one part I’ve never understood.
