Thank you. Considering housing prices even pre-Amazon it will be a nice chunk. I welcome our new overlord Jeff Bezos.

they are co-2's with a small logistics center in nashville as a consolation prize. i am a bit surprised dallas wasn't considered more. NYC was chosen bc of all the people there with tech skills but those taxes and real estate prices have to hurt

This includes a cash grant for capital expenditures from the state of Tennessee of $65 million based on the company creating 5,000 jobs over the next 7 years, which is equivalent to $13,000 per job; a cash grant from the city of Nashville of up to $15 million based on $500 for each job created over the next 7 years; and a job tax credit to offset franchise and excise taxes from the state of Tennessee of $21.7 million based on $4,500 per new job over the next 7 years.

They can't be "co HQ2s"...they aren't in the same location; therefore, they are separate offices.

Why? Its a corporate office. You got most people making somewhere between probably 60-100k and then a few making a more than a milliok and another handful making several hundred k and you then have an average of 150k. I'd be interested in the median income for those jobs.

Sure if they have a couple of C Suite pulling in very solid 5 figures.

Because Nashville has a relatively cheap cost of living outside of housing right now. There's no need for Amazon to pay out the wazoo for these people.

I am guessing they are going to be mostly logistical jobs, and not tech type of business growth jobs.

What jobs do they need to pay $150k or more for?

If they have 2 C Suites making $1 mil, that's laughable to then have 30 people making $100k and saying the average pay is $150k.

I'm simply saying that posting $150k average gets people like accountants and MBA's expecting absurd salaries when more likely they will be very good jobs but not out of this world.

ETA: And is it really a corporate office? I mean technically sure. But its at best their 4th office. So how many high end jobs are there really going to be especially when you have NYC and Seattle as your other HQs.

Amazon doesnt pay any differently region to region, only country by country. Its great if you're in a place like texas or nashville but not so great in boston or Seattle.

$150k per year is a very realistic, if not lowballed number if you factor in upside of the primarily RSU based compensation.

How does the stock option or stick bonus plan work for an Amazon employee? I know someone who started with them in Seattle around 2008 and he just purchased a home for over a million dollars.
I know that’s not a big deal in Seattle, but was just curious about what his stocks might be worth
