You know why we have "there are too many empty seat" threads?

Because we also have "Concessions suck" threads, "Post-game traffic sucks" threads, "Seatbacks suck" threads, "Bathrooms look like a Turkish prison" threads, and new for this year - "DJ sucks arse" threads
The AD seems stuck in the 1970's. We should all just be happy to shell out our money, go sit in a concrete bowl with aluminum seats for 4 hours, and be happy we have the opportunity to see our favorite team play.
At some point they have to wake up and realize it's 2023, and everybody has way more options to consume the game than they ever have, and if they want to continue to have even a semblance of a home field advantage, it's time to get into the modern world and address at least some of the issues around gameday, if not all of them
Every other SEC stadium I've been to has had nicer amenities and a better "fan experience". Does that matter to the older crowd and die hards who are going to the games no matter what? Of course not. But every generation coming up needs a little more convincing that sitting captive in a stadium 4 hours on a Saturday makes sense. The further behind you fall, the harder it will be to convince those younger fans that it's worth their time and money.

I was in the west upper deck close to the speakers and they suck I heard the Auburn band loud and clear when they played over the music from the speakers.

I’ve been to every SEC stadium and I don’t think this is true.

That’s literally the point of attending a football game: sitting/standing in the stadium to watch a football game. If that’s not enough entertainment for “upcoming generations,” then they can stay home and look at their phones.

There is also a bit of self-fulfilling prophecy to this. You hear people say “No one stays at the game the whole time anymore” a hundred time, so when the action hits a lull in the 3rd quarter, you think “no one stays the whole game anymore” and it gives you an excuse to leave.

Just makes no sense to me… it’s a football game for God’s sake.

Of course, but if that experience comes along with a 4th rate DJ instead of the school's band, unkempt bathrooms, shitty or non-existent concessions, and the potential for a 90 minute wait to exit campus, do you think people are more likely to make the commitment or less likely?

Every generation gets weaker and softer. That’s what you meant to say. When the war is brought to this soil, you and your soft brethren will be the first to run and hide behind the real ones.

OP, very good post.
The first I recall of the early-exit syndrome in play was WVU in '10. It was a one score game and PP7 was on top of the world and half the east lower was empty.
So this is nothing new. Yet I do not know of a single, good-faith effort nmade by Alleva or SW to correct course.
I take it as long as the AD is making profits they have no reason to be concerned with early-exit syndrome. Not an issue for them.

It started in 2006 against Kentucky that I can remember.

I thought the crowd was pretty good Saturday. The lower bowl looked full, while there were some open spots in the upper decks. The fans really didn’t start leaving in large numbers until we got 41.
To me the biggest issues are the terrible post-game traffic problems and the fact that the stadium has been expanded so much that it’s hard to fill.

I can learn to tolerate everything else, but if anything gets to be potential deal breaker for me, it will be the traffic and the apparent inability to manage it.

Because the older crowd isn’t soft.

Last night moved me closer to the "it's not worth it" crowd. Legitimately had to call stadium security because the students next to our section were awful. In addition to needing to be kicked out of season ticket holder seats that they claimed for their own because no one was sitting there when they arrived, the vaping and use of marijuana was off the charts. They were sitting on the steps in-between the two sections when there were seats in their section available, and it nearly caused a few fights.
I don't mind kids being kids and getting a little rowdy, but the level of disrespect, plain ignorance, and self-entitlement is off the charts. They all think that they are Livvy Dunne or whatever the male equivalent is, and it's annoying as hell.

If so, somebody on here that knows what they're looking at, please give an LSU vs Auburn half-time report.
BTW, I haven't seen a thread about TGBFTL since the season started, except for the one about not playing "Bandits" at the right time.
So, how are they looking with Holoweiko?
Better, worse, louder, not as loud, about the same?
Yall made a big deal about Tiger Band before the season, but I haven't seen any follow up reports on how they look and sound........
