You're correct. I did not mean to include 2013 in that post, and edited it accordingly.
2008 - pick 6's all over the place. You'd have to agree that '09, '10, '11, '12, '14 and now '15 have been disasters.
That is 7 of the last 8 years with major offensive issues.

now do Saban's
You miserable fricks need to just go away. You have to compare everything in this program to Saban or Bama. I hope that makes you feel good inside, but to any rationale person it makes you look like a miserable douche.
Is Saban a good coach? Sure. But you guys act like he's some sort of coaching god who is infallible. What you have going on at Bama is the perfect storm of a good coach combined with a University and boosters who will pay/do anything to have a successful football team and historical name recognition. Same can be said for Urban Meyer at Ohio St.
To the point of this post, it's not like Saban was undefeated and winning championships here every year.
2000 - 8-4 (including a home loss to UAB)
2001 - 10-3 (badly beaten by UF at home, but then got hot after losing to Ole Miss)
2002 - 8-5 (lost Mauck during UF game, so a little slack)
2003 - 13-1 (Great season)
2004 - 9-3 (Loss at Auburn due to refs and barely beating a bunch of scrubs including Troy followed by Capital One loss)
I'm as frustrated with Miles as anyone and believe he needs to get something figured out very rapidly or hit the road. But you guys need to GTFO with all the Saban lovefest and comparisons.

I don't hate Les and would freely admit that his first 3 years were awesome. 34-6 with a BCS and SEC Title was awesome. Something happened in 2008 - the pick 6s - that drove Les into a conservative shell and he has never recovered from it. Other than 2013, our passing offense has finished the year rated worse than 90th in the country multiple times. For 8 years Les has avoided throwing down the middle of the field to the point that we now only throw outside the hashes. When you are a power running team and the opponents safeties don't have to worry about play action passes over their heads, they can either creep up to give them 9 in the box or jump routes to the outside. The fear of throwing over the middle has completely handicapped our offense for years.
The other major problem I see is that despite great recruiting rankings, we often didn't get what we really needed. Les stocked up on highly rated WRs as an example, but didn't get a QB who could get them the ball. We stocked up on great RBs, but the quality of the OL isn't as high as the skill players. We signed no DTs last year. None? Then we lost half the existing DL through attrition. So do we really recruit to fill our most glaring needs?
I hope we win out and Les signs a big class. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll back off from sticking his fingers into the offense. Maybe we'll get a better DC and get rid of Peveto. Maybe there will be a lot of changes, but Les will survive. I hope we do turn it around, but changes are still needed even if we do.

I still have no idea how some fans actually hate Steele but somehow still think Cameron is the right guy for the job lol

Finally... Some intelligence on this board

I'm ready to turn the page, but to discredit his time here is idiotic. They will see the light when the next coach is still getting his arse kicked by Bama and frank Wilson is getting Nola kids to another sec west school.

Everyone talks up Louisiana. But where are the qbs, the dts, linebackers, offensive linemen? Louisiana just hasn't produced many as of late. Dak will get drafted, but the last qb from la to get drafted was Stefan lefors in 2005, someone saban missed on.
Look at the oline, our best players aren't even from LA. We have one dlinemen starting from LA.
So Les Miles had to turn this into a national recruiting brand to even compete. You can't win on la talent alone.
Nola isnt even at pre Katrina levels yet. Les had to recruit 6 years of this state being down in talent. If you step back and actually take a look, he's done a phenomenal job.
shite, go look at his time at Colorado under mcartney, he was getting black players from California to Boulder.

OP we all know Les has a great winning record. I bet your one of the fans the past 2-3 that says there is no decline. Well he has a great record, and we have been in decline since 2012. Yes he is statistically the best coach we've ever had, but our team is getting worse now. It's time he is let go.

I totally agree with this, but the point is that you just have to get bodies. You may not get studs, but you need to get guys you think can be serviceable. You can't just have seniors and freshman, because you only get a guy on the off chance LA produces one. Sometimes you have to build for depth.

He's needed to go for 5 years.
He got lucky as shite in 2007 to win a title or the whole narrative about him would be completely different, if Flynn doesn't complete the late td against auburn in 2007 that's another late game clock gaff that costs us a game.
Face it, he is a bad coach who more often than not has no idea what's going on late in games, that has gotten lucky to have amazing talent win inspite of his complete incompetence.

I was reading this expecting it would be heavily downvoted, I never know with this board.
That's because the rational folks didn't even click on it after reading the "cookies and milk for miles" title.

I appreciate the good things Les has done.
But you can tarnish your legacy by staying around--or being allowed to stay around--after times have passed you by.
Coaches have done it. CEOs have done it. Presidents have done it.
I don't have to get all sentimental and gushy to prove I don't hate Les.
But Les Miles--if he has half a lick of financial sense, and I believe he has much more than that--has probably 20 million dollars in the bank right now.
If he'd like, he'll get a high-paying media job after he leaves here.
LSU has done enough for Les without me needing to be all sentimental.
All this former posi-tiger knows is, it's past time for him to hang his coaching shoes up--or be involuntarily made to do so.

Great post!
I only disagree with one thing. In your second paragraph you ask that
" we stop with the act that you have been miserable ever since has been coach."
It has not been an act! There are a huge portion of this board and IRL that have been down on CLM from the time he was hired thru all he has accomplished to now. Instead of celebrating the greatness and there has been a LOT, they have incessantly pounded him for the less than great. Not only here but IRL, since 2005, they have been miserable. Now they get to say see I told you.
I love Les and I acknowledge something is missing and resign myself to the fact it may be time, but he brought a golden age to my Tigers for a good while.
He didn't deserve a lot of the disrespect I have seen over the years. Truly sad!

'11 was miserable?
Which team were you watching again?
Just wanted to say that up vote you got was my error. I was trying to down vote and missed. Terrible post.
