I've never been a miles fans before he got hired. If you you look at his record before he got to LSU . He went 7-5- 9-4- 8-4 at OKST. one bowl win in 4 years there .They guy is not a great coach period. He might improve the team to a few wins but that's about it . His only big win during that span was one win over Oklahoma. I am proud of the team . They wanted to win , but not so much of the coaching staff.

I wouldn't go this far. Miles is a good coach.

15 straight National championships in a row.

Completely and totally rational thought process. Because that's possible in today's college football.

Jesus man. You know there is a little middle ground here.

NC's are hard to come by and it's all or nothing in todays world. You can't blame fans for hoping, with one of the elite teams in the nation....that one will come.

Won one in 2007 and damn near choked it away the final week of the season. There is a pretty small window to be the best, and this is it.

There isn't a fan out there who isn't a little disappointed that last year, not this year will not be championship years. No one expects 15 championships in a row, but when you have an elite level group you can't help but be disappointed when it doesn't happen.

There is always next year. And the year after.

Playing the devil's advocate here, but do you blame him?

Hell, the majority of people here didn't think the offense was good enough to score on Bama before the game began.

Absolutely agree, and have supported him, still support him 100%.

It doesn't mean I agree with him all the time.

You don't think a head coach has the ability to look at what's happening in a game and discern what is working and what isnt?

I suspect most of his haters are the same and you don't want to be wrong, so you won't give him credit for anything.

You must have been really mad when we hired a coach that was 6-5-1, 6-6, 7-5, 6-6 and 9-2, that was 0-3 in bowls including a bowl loss to Gerry Dinardo and had one big win over Ohio State.

Maybe that's why Bama didn't have an answer for it.

Look I wouldn't fire Miles. He's been way too successful for that, and I believe he will continue that success. I don't like his style, but the program hasn't foundered like I thought it would.
BUT I don't know how anyone could say he's not challenged as a gameday coach or really be happy about two titles in 8 years. To me, Saturday was a perfect example of why people don't like Miles despite his record.
Beat up on Bama (with a team Miles built) and then end it like that, playing for a FG and 6 point lead. Especially after some clearly "balls over brains" calls earlier in the game.

Agree with the post. For all the Saban lovers, and I do think he is the best coach and recruiter in college football and that Miles is a close second, I remember when Saban went to prevent in the bowl game against Iowa and we lost on the last play. I was in the end zone and felt exactly like I did Saturday night. Questionable because it didn't work because the players did not execute. This is a young team and young players sometimes do not execute. Miles has admitted he wished he had some calls back on the trick plays but if one would have worked and the players would have executed on the last drive, we would all have a different mindset today.

I just blame the prevent defense

So did I. But looking at the replays of that last drive, Norwood was adequately covered on 2 of the 3 passes he caught. He looked pretty free on the last pass, but the other two were just great executions by QB and WR. Like someone else said—last Saturday showed that Bama is beatable ... and why they're unbeaten.

Give us their schedule from 2011-2013. I'd love to only have to get up for one game a year that really doesn't matter if you lose it.

Nick is an arse, he is obsessive, he puts nothing before winning, and thinks of nothing else.

Les is a good guy. He is also an excellent coach. He is not obsessive like Nick, but a damn fine coach. Who the hell would you bring in to replace him? There is not a great answer waiting.

What happened the last time we ran off a really good coach that lived, breathed and loved LSU and tiger football? The dark ages.

You can draw parallels between Charles McClendon, and Les, and you are getting even more out of Les.
This is like bitching about a wife who is great to the kids, gives it up on the reg, and can cook her arse off, because she's carrying ten extra pounds around the middle. Sit down, shut up and hold on. Les is not a quitter and they will not beat us continuously until the end of time.

Thank You, I am done.

Because I've never criticized anything LSU.

You seem to enjoy following my posts since Saturday and the theme is "It's always ..... with you..."

Same goes for you. You seem to pop into a thread about positive outcomes and patterns just to remind us all that Miles sucks and nothing he'll ever do will compare to Saban or any other "elite" coach in the country.

You've been doing it for a loooong time.

So pot, meet kettle.
