I think he will make it, his whole family came to see him in Jackson,MS. Hoping thats good news

I hope so too. But generally when the whole family is asked to come in it's not a great sign. To hell with football. I just hope he can make it through and have some sort of quality of life.

Agreed. At this point I'll pray for recovery to afford him a comfortable retirement to the FL keys, writing books on various topics and pontifications. And I will buy every single one of them.

This is the Twitter page of Jim Howington. Not good news if factual.

Yeah, Starkville to Jackson is a good distance away for ambulance to travel in an emergency.

This article has some information contrary to other information out there.

LINK

Here is some of it. You can read the rest in the link.

quote:

Mike Leach had trouble sleeping late Saturday night. Before he drifted off on the sofa at his home in Mississippi, he sent some text messages to friends.

Leach is 61.

He’s now in critical condition at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He was airlifted there Sunday. It’s been reported that the Mississippi State football coach suffered “a massive heart attack.” That may or may not be true. His family isn’t even certain of that yet, I’m told. But I do know that Leach has been suffering from heart failure for a while.

Fluid around his heart.

Fluid around his lungs.

He’s battled pneumonia this season, too. You may have noticed, Leach has had a persistent, hacking cough.

I’m told that Leach didn’t exactly collapse at his home, as some reported. He’s not brain dead, as others have indicated on social media. The football coach was found on the sofa, unresponsive, after what some think was 10-15 minutes. EMTs showed up and did their jobs.

Doctors then worked all day Sunday to sedate Leach, stabilize him, and are now beginning to assess his condition. Does it sound bad? Very much so. But as one member of his inner circle said: “He’s still with us.”

This is without question the most saddening news I've ever had to break, because it involves a man I consider a friend, @Coach_Leach. As most are aware, #Leach suffered a severe stroke at his home on Sunday, December 11,
2022. Leach is the @HailStateFB head Coach
to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi's only
Level 1 trauma center for neurological disorders. #Sources from inside the #MississippiState program indicate that the prognosis is terminal. Leach has suffered brain trauma that is not survivable (brain death). Leach's family is being called into Jackson to say their final goodbyes. Afterward, it is presumed that Leach will be taken off life support, after which he will be clinically pronounced dead.

That is on Twitter from @jim_howington

Hearing he is now basically in hospice care at UMC. Non-responsive since the event took place. Prayers to him, his family, his players, and MSU

I don't have a link but a few of my State friends are saying Coach Leach has passed away.

Ordinarily I wouldn't post even this much with all of the other speculation, but I'm confident these friends aren't making something up.

I like him in the game. He was a breath of Fresh air in a game of stuffy azzhole coaches.
