Bama gonna beat our brains in anyway. So he'll take 3 days at the L'Auberge pool before it gets too cold.

Saban treats his bye week like a camp week. Players hate bye weeks when playing for saban because its full pads, full contact, lots of hitting and tackling drills and workouts after practice.

Yeah this is a lie. This is how Saban treats bye weeks, straight from his mouth
quote:

“We used to practice more but I don’t think you get a lot of quality practice time if you practice more than this. I think the rest is probably more important, mentally as well as physically. Our guys haven’t had a chance to go home or anything since the start of fall camp at the beginning of August. So when you give them Friday, Saturday, Sunday, they’ll have a chance to do that. Maybe go back and watch their high school games or whatever. I think at this point in the season, less is more in some ways, in terms of trying to get rest, recovery, healed up. Three practices is really what we have in the course of a normal week. We usually just walkthrough on Friday and then we play the game on Saturday. So basically they’re missing the walkthrough and the Saturday. But we’ll practice tomorrow and Thursday and then on Monday.”

In fairness, nothing that can be done this season will make this team perform better on the field. We simply are not a good football team period. Too late for lipstick on this pig

It’s actually pretty smart. What’s the over under players test positive for Covid next week? Bama game cancelled.

Wait till Monday....

... then see who was in there "voluntarily".

If the players are losing faith in the coaching, but are still motivated to play hard this will tell you where their head is and then you can act appropriately.

If they've lost their faith in the coaching, forcing them just might make it worse.

On the other hand, if they "show up" without being forced you have a whole other issue on your hands.

But at least you know which it is.

You make a good point. Maybe the virus will come to our rescue! I wonder what Trevor Lawrence is doing these days?

The only players at Alabama who go through lots of contact during a bye week are the players who aren't getting playing time during the games. The rest just do conditioning and work on correcting some mistakes. Saban doesn't even install the game plan until next week, and the players get the same long weekend off as the LSU players.

You are still only allowed 20 hours of practice time even tho it’s a bye week.
