i've always liked when teams fake the handoff and then do a shuffle pass to the TE up the middle. Most of the time defenses don't stop it.

I miss Les’s run schemes. I’ll be a man and admit it.

I hated the one we did with Thomas vs Arkansas. It was a short yardage play and the probability of him losing yardage was greater than him breaking a big play. I think he gained 1-2 yards. First I wouldn't have used a big WR that's not as agile and second I would have preferred either a run play or short pass to get the 1st.

if the receiver drops it it’s an incomplete not a fumble which is nice.

Fumbled handoffs happen but they're pretty rare. It's a good play I just don't see where it's an improvement over the traditional jet sweep other than it's counted as a completion for the QB. But teams all over the country have suddenly started running it that way.

no
saturday they ran the sweep into a 3 man bunch formation and it was stuffed. It was the dumbest shite i have ever seen. you run the sweep to the open side, or where only 1 receiver is, not 3 in a bunch formation...

It's kind of a stat-padder.

You think they're running these plays for the sake of increasing passing yard totals?

TE screens. I love a damn good TE screen. RB goes out to make the D bite on him and throw short to the TE.

Its just an RPO with a qb run/rb run included, and if the qb keeps he has the tight end to dump it too if he wants.

Simple modern football bud.

Edit:

Its just a jet sweep.

Incredibly easy to frick up, but each time we've used it it's been successful.

Actually, quite the opposite. It's a forward pass, so if they screw it up it's just an incomplete pass. Completely safe with a worst case 0 yard loss, unlike a full speed handoff on traditional jet sweep which can be fumbled or cause the runner to slow down.

JD seems to be taking the shots this year. All the passes against arky and state, we never saw that last year. It was BK biggest gripe for his QB.
