At worst he’s the 5th WR off the board.

Not to hijack this thread but I think BTJ will have a solid NFL career. The one I’m most interested in is Diggs. The blitz pickups he’s made is something that NFL teams look for and he has some burst and wiggle that can keep him around in the NFL for some time

Agree. A lot of teams look for backs like him

He’s a top 20 pick, probably 4th WR off the board

I don’t think he’s the 4th off the board - not even close. Nabers, Keon Coleman, and Harrison are clearly above him. Then there about 10 guys who are at a similar level. If he goes in the middle of those guys he would be the ninth receiver taken. That’s where I would set the over/under.

He is really good from an NFL perspective.

NFL loves 6’4” WR with speed. BTJ will be 1/2 round pick.

I've seen him mocked in the late first round by two different places, but I've also seen him go somewhere in the 2nd round. Even if he isn't a first round guy, I don't believe for a second he falls outside the top 2 rounds. I've seen him mocked to the Eagles and Chiefs as late first round pickups.

WTF? His tape leads the league in TDs.

These drafts are all over the place. Several don’t have Daniels in the first round much less Thomas.

The vast majority have Daniels as a first round mock. I just seen one that has him picked like 4th or 5th to the Giants. Over the last two weeks I've seen him mocked to the Patriots, Giants, Falcons, Raiders, Packers, and Vikings. Only one of those was picked outside the top 20.

Me personally I'd want him to go the Steelers, Vikings, or Seahawks.

Steelers, because that's my team and we stupidly picked Pickett a couple years ago (never wanted this guy).

The Vikings because they are a ready to go team and Daniels is a more talented Dobbs (Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson, and K.J. Osborn as receivers).

The Seahawks, because they have a good veteran coach, are top 10 in receiver units, run the ball damn good, and just revitalized Geno Smith's career.

With the Vikes and Hawks, he can sit a year and develop because they have good enough starters for right now.

ehh, I think you would have to look at the LSU factor here. Sure, he's not better than the top 4, but after that, you have to look for what he does best outside of the physical talent, and what best fits your team. He could easily be the 5th to 10th WR based on needs.

My only knock on Thomas is it seems he’s not necessarily a natural catcher. I feel like he bobbles then secures a lot. It stands out to me in comparison to Malik

If he came back for another year he'd be a top 5 pick. But won't happen...

His combine will shock people in the spring. Couple that with his stats, he’ll go top 4-7 WR.

He will also run a 4.4 40

He may run faster than that. He hit some insane speed (22-23 mph) on the 85-yard JD TD run against Florida

He’s a very good WR, yards after the catch, secures the ball well, finds an open zone, big body, great speed, doesn’t mind blocking. Too many good things. An NFL team is going to love this kid.

That was almost exactly my point. I wrote that there are three better and then he is in a group of 10. I picked the midpoint of ten (5) and added it to three to get (and here is where it gets kind of funny) 9!

Daniels won’t make it past the Raiders.

Part of Thomas' drawback is that he is used as a deep threat, mostly as compared to Nabers who will take an 8 yard pass over the middle and then race for another 12....or more.

When he was in HS Thomas used to do what Nabers does; take a short pass usually on the edge and weave his way into open field

If he runs a 4.4 he’s going top 20

He has really blown up this season. Last season there were several occasions that he and Daniels weren’t on the same page but now they are clicking. Both will benefit from the chemistry they developed this season.
