I’d be fine with it. Though I don’t think Lane messes with “tradition”.
I grew up in the 80s with the purple jerseys at home. Reminds me of Hodson to Fuller, Sammy Martin against aTm, beating ND and Holtz…

Wouldn't hate it. Better than one of the alternates to open with. But I like tradition, so is prefer starting with gwg

Fashion statement? OP asked if we’d mind it. No, I wouldn’t. It was the color combo worn during memorable times in the 80s, it is what it is. I couldn’t care less what uniform they wear, but the gold-purple-gold are solid IMO.

I’d like it if LSU looked prepared to play football for Lane’s 1st game. I haven’t seen that in a season opener in a few years.

Not sure why you are getting downvoted. Gold-Purple-Gold is the traditional uniform for out of state non-conference opponent home games, but home openers are traditionally Gold-White-Gold.

You can tell there’s a lot of young turds in here historically speaking LSU only had two jerseys or uniforms white shirts and the purple shirts with the gold pants
all these other crap alternate uniforms the Last 10 years aren’t traditional at all.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again and I realize I’m an 80s kid but our GPG is the most underutilized uniform we have and iconic …obviously outside the white shirt and gold pants.
