So have I.

Having to retain council and giving a formal statement to the police as a person of interest/potential suspect.....never a good thing.

so true. usually the winner gets the shaft no matter who started it unless self defense can be proved.

I learned that when I was in a similar situation.

Now when these situations come up I laugh and walk away....this way if they hit you IT IS SELF DEFENSE!

agreed, and LSU football players may have committed a crime. Excuse me if the rule of law means something.

must be a lawyer. they believe in the law until it's not their benefit.

rule of law is a fancy phrase to show me the money.

there used to be a day when two people could get in a fight and move on. you used to look at spilling coffee on yourself as an accident, you didn't need a disclaimer on the ladder to tell you may get hurt if you fall from it. if you lost control of your car and hit a tree on the side of the interstate, it used to be an accident, "rule of the law" has changed it". somebody has to pay now. no one can be considered at fault or negligent for their own behavior or actions.

watch a little day time t.v., lawyers on it all day long want to GET YOU MONEY. which means, i need you to get me money. they don't work for free.

The marine thing is irrelevant in my book. There are many great service men out there and many complete jerks and criminals as well. Just because you wear the uniform doesn't make you a hero any more than wearing a football jersey does

i believe the instigators were driving these new cars that didn't have locks.

I was thinking this too.

"They were pulled from the car..."

Lock the door stupid arse! Hard to believe they sat there while 4 men walked over, opened the door, and drug them out and beat them down.

Let's be honest. We'll never know the whole truth of what went down so it's all moot anyway.

I challenge you to a duel. I'm gonna walk 10 paces, turn and shoot you in the face.

this defiantly no reason to run in and throw haymakers at those not involved

Has that been proven or alleged. I don't believe anything has been proven, yet. We should all wait. If it turns out to be true, then so be it. No sense in speculating like a bunch of brokers.

I would be upset with my son for being out at a bar at 2 am and participating in a brawl. I'd want to know what part he played in putting himself in that position. I would tell him, I'm paying for your college, I don't expect you out at a bar on a weekday night; certainly not in the wee hours of the morning. I would find out what my kid did to put himself in harm's way. Then, if he was an innocent bystander and did nothing to instigate the fight, I'd be really interested in knowing who hurt my boy...the problems is, I doubt that anyone involved in the brawl was an innocent bystander.

I would have whipped my son's arse worse than Jordan Jefferson did for getting behind the wheel at 1:45 a.m. after spending all night at the bar.

this.

Not liking what the alleged victims did or didn't do doesn't give the LSU players a pass either

these straight forward questions have no str forward answer

I'd want to know wtf my kid did to provoke or be involved in the first place

I doubt I would be running around saying my child is innocent, I live in the real world, all parties look to be at fault in some way

I'm not naive enough to believe that anyone was an innocent bystander. Don't start no shite, won't be no shite.

why is everyone assuming that the players started the fight? What if one of the guys who ended up in the hospital was acting like a jasckass and started it? I don't have an opinion b/c I do not know the whole story, but be careful placing blame before you know the facts.
