That's true, the football players are lucky the guy in the truck didn't have a gun. Instead of 4 players facing suspension, it could be 4 players dead.

depends on if my son was being a jackass and provoked it. (allegedly?)
With great power comes great responsibility. This reminds me of the infamous bully thread from the OT. When you're huge you can't go throwing your weight around, even if your opponent is a dick.

Nicky Savoie, Gabe Northern and a few others kicked the overlovinng shite out of a few of my buddies back in 95. It failed to make any headlines..
Damn one of my favorite players back then. Didn't know he got down like that.

So the current fan take on the thread is that:
The guys in the car blew the horn and yelled the N word.
The players stood up for themselves and pulled the guy out of the car to teach him a lesson.
The guys who came to help the guy deserved to get their asses whipped.
Basically the players were pushed to the point where they were in their rights to step on these guys.

Are you being serious with this?
The N word is grounds for a severe beating?

This is the funniest part to me. Are people that naive about what happens in Tigerland? They think that he honked, so he just got his assed kicked. Come on, that doesnt happen ANYWHERE. If he got beat up, he instigated it somehow.
Wasn't Xavier Carter running around Tigerland provoking fights back in the day? Name calling, no matter how bad it is, does not justify an arse kicking.

Would I be happy about it? No. However if you are at a bar after 2am most likely you were not innocent in the situation either.

Nope, if he did it, I would walk with him to the gates.

I'm 20. My son would be a baby or a young child..So if a grown arse football player beat him up...i'd tell him to say it was Bama players.

I have two old friends on the team, and they told me this N word deal. I am not gonna act like I know more than that though, not one for starting a snowball of rumors.
I will text them later for some more details, but I think its better for everyone involved if they just keep their mouths shut.

I wouldn't feel differently.
Whoever escalated it to throwing punches needs a two game suspension.
The only way I would press charges is if my son had done nothing at all to provoke the arse beating.
Monetary compensation for medical bills is all I would want/ask for if my son was being any sort of a dick.
That said, if my son was on the football team and he beat the crap out of some kid for the same reason (taunting etc.) I would expect the same punishments.

Apparently you have a problem with those that take up for the players even just slightly.
It is only okay to speculate the worst situation possible for the players, but if anyone says the "victims" are not angels in this situation, then they are just being homers.
I just want to get this straight.

You can't tell me you've never seen some drunk tough guy nut up b/c someone "looked at him wrong" or some BS. Imagine that same drunk person getting a horn blown in his face. People do stupid stuff for stupid reasons. I mean, people have gotten shot in the head in traffic for honking the horn.
most of those people usually have a history of violence...none of these kids do.

It would range from, you got what you deserved... to ... go get my gun.
This but if my son got very serious injuries it would still mean I would try to get the max punishment on whoever did it even if its an LSU player.

If the "N" word is indeed what provoked this, your gonna have Sharpton on this shite quick if any of the players get suspended. You can book that!
