The thing about O is he needed a great staff around him and he showed he couldn't handle that. Rumor is he butted heads with Aranda. If he did or didn't, he hired Pelini. By and large, his hires were shite outside of Brady.
He recruited well but not great at LSU and by all accounts he was checked out after 2019. Could he have done well? Maybe, but it's still a gamble.

Coach O’s problem was trim, which negativity impacted his focus. NIL wouldn’t have changed that.
