I want that time out back

I keep seeing people say "series" but "possession" would be better. If the "injured" player's team gets a first down on the next play, can the "injured" go back in? frick that. Player can go back in next possession, not next series. If possession is too long for you, perhaps four plays or possession, whichever is shorter.
It’s not an onerous enough punishment for cheating. And really just takes away from the player. They typically do it with lineman that rotate anyway.

Call it the Kiffin rule or the Hotty Toddy rule !!

Calling for an entire possession, quarter, etc, seems a bit much to me. There are games in the past in which we wouldn’t have been able to field an offensive side due to cramps.
I think one play for a contact injury and three plays for a non contact injury would be a reasonable balance, with unsportsmanlike penalties for clear “walking around fine and drop to the ground on a signal” bullshite.

if they have to stop the flow of the game for your "injured" arse, then you sit the rest of the series.
This sounds great until it’s someone like Nuss that has to sit out a series because he came up gimpy on a play

Non-contact “injury” and player must sit out the remainder of the series as those are generally serious or faked.
Again, you're talking non-contact, a person is just standing or walking and then randomly collapses. In regular life, that gets you a trip to the ER, you might be having a seizure etc. If someone does that during a game, they need to be evaluated

What if they are walking fine, but pull up with a cramp? Or they are limping towards the sideline and then sit because they won’t make it off before a delay of game penalty?
As much as I hate the fake injury bullshite, we shouldn’t throw the baby out with the bath water by forcing stars to sit out chunks of games. Literally no one actually wants that in practice.

Just take away timeouts

Nobody wants to hear this, but the only time they unequivocally faked an injury was when we were trying to rush the snap after Caden’s knee hit the ground 10 yards behind where he was called down. They were negating our cheesy bullshite with their own cheesy bullshite.
There were a couple other ones that were dubious, and if you want to claim them then I’m not going to stop you, but the only one that was not debatable was done to buy time for the refs to (correctly!) review a spot.

Just consider that the refs will screw us eventually so, do we want to lose Weeks for a quarter if the Tuscaloosa booster makes a phone call?

which should cost them 15 yards. They faked an injury to avoid us getting a snap off. That’s unsportsmanlike and should be called.

Each injury should burn a timeout.
That would stop some of the fake shite from happening real quick.

Anyone got a GIF on f the last fake injury. Ole boy was standing there, looks At the sideline, then just drops to the ground.

Personally I think it should be defensive delay of game and a reviewable call.

“Possession” is what they mean when they say “series”.

How about a penalty box for 2.00 minutes. If he he is ready after 2.00 minutes I'm okay with that. If he is really injured then it's up to the trainers to say he is ready. Coaches will think twice if it's a good player that goes down for a fake injury. Im okay with the taking him out for that series but series can last 7 or 8 minutes

I agree it should be a penalty. Unsportsmanlike, illegal substitution or delay.

As others have said. If you go down for an "injury" you have to sit out the rest of the series. That will be the only way you actually put a stop to the nonsense.

No other sport stops play for injuries during gameplay, and that’s real injuries.
They don’t stop a basketball game in the last minute b/c someone is hurt.
They don’t stop in soccer either.
You get hurt, oh well. Call a timeout or take a penalty.
The only reason they should stop is if the injury happened with the contact of the play and the player is down immediately and there’s already a natural stop in play. Once everyone is lining up there’s no more stopping for “injuries”.

Some of you expressing your righeous indignation should remember Lacy and Penn were legitimately injured last night and recturned to the field in a couple of plays, but would have to sit out considerably longer with your suggestions.
