Arkansas has gotten some really awful calls from SEC refs, including one personal foul that allowed No. 1 Fla. to come back and win 23-20. The SEC officiating office said they could find no video evidence of an infraction at all. The officiating crew was suspended and the head of the crew apologized. SEC response to the Auburn fiascoes was just teh opposite. Did the conference ever acknowledge the PP7 interception call was wrong?

Ritters flag near the goal line after Yeldon fumbled in 2014 was egregious. One of our OL shoved lightly after a play and he called a FIFTEEN yard personal foul at a huge point in the game for nothing.

Starting DJ Welter over Kendall Beckwith. I still get pissed off just thinking bout it.

Lol when I just read the subject line I already knew that this was going to be the call. I would also say when LSU was leading Alabama at LSU and we got flagged late in the game for a personal foul that wasn't even a personal foul that led to Alabama winning. Sorry I can't remember exactly who it was but that's the one we're Yates won at the end

The SEC office even before Saban has acted as if it’s only job was to preserve Alabama’s record to insure their eligibility for the championship. That’s where the money is, not just for the Gumps but for the conference as a whole.
Their “mistakes” have been egregious enough and frequent enough (often game changing) that just film studies alone are justification for the NCAA to ban use of SEC officials in postseason and interfconference play. It would take this kind af attention to motivate cleaning up the system.

That entire AU game was a sham

I remember another horrible pass interference no call in the endzone right before the end of the first half. David Irons, Kenny Irons' brother was hanging all over an LSU receiver (can't remember who the receiver was it could've been Doucet, Bowe, Davis or someone else) and there was no call. Then something happened and LSU either only came away with a field goal or didn't score on the drive. It's been so long since I've thought about that game that I can't remember.

ETA: I guess the receiver that was interfered with by Irons was Lafell. A few others posted about it in the thread. Irons was hanging all over him and even kicked out at him. That game pissed me off big time.

the early doucet pass interference/defensive hold flag pick up at auburn is still the biggest screw job I've ever seen
Hands down.

Bama still bitches about the Corey Webster "no PI in the endzone" play.
Remarkably, that is the one call SEC Refs admit they got wrong.

Rogers Redding (SEC coordinator of officiating) explained on the Monday after the game that the call was correct because the deflection by the DB rendered the pass uncatchable.

If that explanation held any water, a defender grabbing the waist of a receiver would be a no-call as long as he was able to knock the ball down.

Redding was in CYA mode. His team blew it......big time.

I consider myself an otherwise rational fan (realizing that this is probably relative) but this is one of the all-time bullshite calls in the worst possible moment of a pretty important football game.

How about the crack back block by the defensive lineman for UCF on Joe Burrow after an early game interception and Joe was attempting to go after the returner. That was an attempt to take out Burrow. A non-call when it was obvious that it was clearly unnecessary roughness or targeting!!!

On the other hand, it pissed off Burrow and he kicked the sh**t out of UCF the rest of the game!

i agree. We had first and goal at the Bama 3 in a tie game with a minute to go. Bama started pushing and shoving out of frustration and desperation and we got called for the penalty which GAVE Bama the game. I saw people crying at the end of that game.

The refs call that Billy Cannon was stopped short of the goal line in the 1959 game against Tennesssee cost LSU back to back national championships as the Tigres lost 14-13.

I can't believe I just went back and serial down-voted a thread from 2011 and damn near resurrected it to breathe new life into the Early Doucet PI!!

If the guy had actually intercepted the ball the penalty stands and we get a first down.
