Why should a fan root for an organization that continually destroys the hope fans have for their favorite team.
True LSU fans root for the teams through thick and thin, and it's not even open for debate. Usually you have a connection to the school; you went there. I went in the 80's, shared classes with Hodson, Andolsek, Harvey etc, and later a couple electives with Shaq and Mo Williamson. I had a student job with CJ's girlfriend and met him through her. Had a funny conversation with Shaq about Arkansas and "fat arse" Olivier Miller on the 2nd floor of Thomas Boyd. Studied for finals with some of the football players (pro tip: they got REALLY GOOD study guides
Met Ben MacDonald a few times, and we talked about high school stuff- we were in the same district back then. I remember him as the DSHS center on the basketball team, as well as the elite LSU pitcher. He chose the right sport for him
I got my degree there. That place has serious memories for me, and there's no way I could ever stop caring about it.
If you have no such attachment, if it's merely "your favorite team", then it's a different situation. If it's like being an Astros, Saints or other pro team fan, you can choose to swap.

If that's true they're foolish. Winning in college baseball is like winning the tallest midget award.
The only two sports that move the needle on a national scale are football and men's basketball, whether people want to face that fact or not.

I will never root against LSU, but this program has no juice, the coach has no energy that I can see. Apathy has set in and that’s the death nail to a program, I don’t even notice that they are playing because it’s the same thing over and over again. This team may be worse than last years, and in the portal era it’s inexcusable. Woody fired a young energetic coach who had to rebuild the program and get fans interested again, and he succeeded. It would’ve been better to take sanctions in basketball and ride it out with Wade, because his players would run through a wall for him. I don’t dislike McMahon but after watching Wades press conference of him going after the ncaa, I miss that coach. You take down a successful coach who was building a potentially great program, fans are voicing their displeasure.

Now do everyone else in the league. LSU is top 4 historically. Kentucky has been the most dominant program in the league historically.

Other fans can only dream about having our passion for our basketball program

You’re talking about LSU bro and you’re wrong. The baseball and football program give LSU everything it needs financially. That’s another reason LSU BB plays in a outdated dungeon.

Bingo. Most LSU fans can’t understand that college baseball is irrelevant nationally.

You are just trolling now. Baseball turns a very modest profit.

Yeah bro, I’m trolling the only university I care about. I just believe in facts. UNLV invests more in their BB program than LSU. Think about that for 30 seconds before you reply.

Do you have a link to the numbers? Or are you just making up more BS?
I do agree with you that LSU should invest more in the basketball program but frankly money isn’t the problem right now. Wade showed you can win at LSU in spite of the limited resources. We have a current head coach that is struggling to recruit talented players and who isn’t a particularly good in-game coach.

Which school is the last one to win a NC? Which one had on of the greatest NCAA basketball coaches of all time?
Facts bro!

you sound like a passionate fan and I applaud you for that But the product on the floor is poor and Louisiana fans aren’t going to support it
No bigger LSU fan than me, but I never have and never will support dysfunction in ANY LSU athletic team.
This current LSU Basketball program is about as dysfunctional as the LSU Football Defense......

You don’t really look like a football school either currently

No, McMahon has created apathy within the program. It’s impossible to get excited when you know the one off win just keeps him around longer.
I watched every game through Brady, Pierre, Johnson, most of Jones, Wade, and now McMahon. This is the worst it’s felt and I could not feel more apathetic towards the program. He’s out of his league.

You can blame Woody. The PMAC was packed when we had the General here, fans were excited. But Woody bent the knee and now we are the bottom dwellers of the SEC. You couldn’t pay me to watch them now
It’s exciting when LSU has a good basketball team. We HAD A GUY who would have us in the tournament every year. Woody fricked that up. I watched half of a game against Syracuse and it was an embarrassing. I’m not investing my time and money into this product.

Is anyone really rooting against the men’s team? I have not seen it just upset ppl that are not liking what we are seeing when we had so much more despite when everyone shite on the coach…. The difference is the old coach would win after everyone turned on him
