It's absolutely fair to question if there's something, and there's some signs there are.

O seems very comfortable blaming others publicly when things aren't going well. That includes bickering to the media during the season. That's happened twice in 3 years with coordinators. It's not a good look.

For the record, Canada is the QB coach for the Steelers

Regarding new assistants, I'm concerned Coach O "hires down" to his level of coaching.

0 has a history of backstabbing his own bosses while on staff to angle for their jobs. (USC and LSU). He also has a history of scapegoating coordinators when he himself has atrocious game management acumen and brings little to the table from a schematic standpoint

But he talks like us.

If they land us back in the cfp or even Atlanta then it is worth it. It’s a revolving door. The days of keeping a staff around for a recruit’s full cycle are long gone. There’s always another young up and coming guy waiting for their shot. Keep it moving

This is what people need to understand.

I don't care for moscona as much as the next guy, but he makes it a point to reiterate this quite often on his show. And it is true.

It's the format we signed up for with the O hire. Is it sustainable? Probably not, but who knows.

But people need to get over bringing in a 45-60 year old with 10 years of experience running his own defense, that will move his family to baton rouge for another 10. There is a 0.001% chance O finds another Venables.

We have to be okay with young guys coming here to prove themselves, having success, and moving on. Then find the next one. That's just what it is.

You’re always so fricking miserable. OP asked a question and you immediately go into grumpy old man mode...probably just a natural state.

You’re legitimately one of the most useless posters on this site.

Did you ever think that guys don’t want to come to LSU because they’re scared to compete against the GOAT coach in Tuscaloosa

This is foolish. No one is scared of coaching against Saban.

Look, I know I’m painted as an O hater but all anyone has to do is check my post history during his time as interim coach and his first year to see that as information changed my comments have accordingly. I defended the man after Troy for crying out loud but like you’ve alluded to the things I brought up aren’t secrets to anyone, they happened. If fans choose to constantly blame the variables instead of the constant in all these situations that’s their choice but I’m an LSU fan not some coach’s acolyte. My concern is the well being of the program regardless of who’s in charge.

And please, Saban is a springboard for coaches to get head coaching gigs. I'd guess the vast majority of ambitious coaches in America would welcome the chance to work for Saban.

Oh, and they win championships too.

I agree completely with this. I'll never understand fans who are supporters of the coach rather than supporters of the program.

Many coaches will come through LSU, some good, some bad. I understand fans may like a particular coach for some personal reason, but they should support THE PROGRAM first and foremost.

Well, he's literally the ONLY coach in America that meddles.
So, who in their right mind would want to work for him?

Exactly, we can support our coaches without deifying them. Doing the latter seldom ends well anyway.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve read today. Turn on ESPN...Saban meddles as much as any coach and Day probably does also. All HC meddle bc at the end of the day it’s their arse on the line.

Ask Joe Burrow what it’s like playing for Coach O. Ask his Dad if he would have a problem working for Coach O.

Look at his career.

Also, his ex wife couldn't be reached for comment.

Who would you hook your coaching wagon to? Nick Saban or Ed Orgeron.... good lord.

This is dumb, typical answer when someone brings up saban. His comment was only to say that having coaches not always agree with you is not a horrible thing....for example Saban's coaches and success.
