The game day experience is a huge issue, for us and other schools. CBS SEC game style tv coverage has drastically hurt the in person game feel.
Tv timeouts every change of downs and every 10 minutes kills the pulse of a game. I really wish young people today could experience a rocking LSU football game that wasn't carried on network TV. The band and the cheers carried the stadium. No ads, no piped music, no videos, and no on field introductions while the tv ads play.
Somehow, Woodward and the other ADs will need to formulate how to maintain a live fanbase in the modern era. There is a generation being raised that prefers sitting on a sofa. If they don't succeed, the stands will be half full in 10 years.

What happens with O will be his toughest job long-term. We won’t beat Bama while he’s here and O can’t work with an OC that’s not his friend. That said we’ll probably win 9 games every year with him. He’s already polarizing and that won’t change
This is only true in your head.

Not really an AD issue though

So my question is: how do you stop the student section from chanting "S that Tiger D"?

Not sure how much he can do regarding traffic after games. That’s a city/parish issue more than anything and LSU already works closely with the city to improve this. Not sure it’ll get better than it is

Yeah, this thread hasn’t been done 10,000 times the past few days.

Tailgating culture outside of the well heeled or the drunken stupor parade ground crowd has been eviscerated over the last decade with people who didn’t understand-and worse, who didn’t care for-the culture surrounding it that’s made LSU so unique.
Tailgating, as most of us know it, has been replaced by a half assed Mardi Gras where the game is secondary. That's not gonna be an easy fix.

They could easily make up for potential lost ad revenue by making condos out of the old dorms in TS.
Yes, it would expensive up front, but the long-term revenue would be well worth it.

What exactly is the issue with compliance? I’ve posted on this board for nearly 2 decades, and have never heard a peep about compliant issues. In fact in most cases especially regarding the football team, several players had long standing immunity until there was an extreme breaking point.
Then will Wade comes along, who has been in the news 3x in the last calendar year regarding potential recruiting violations/investigations, and all of a sudden the compliance department is in the crosshairs, even stuff dating back to his time at VCU. What exactly am I missing here?
I mean that is there job, is it not? Why would Woodward have a problem with that. He should meet with them, sure. Chopping block though?? Ehh
Will Wade should be his first meeting. He needs to be reeled in. He’s too big of an asset to do the stupid shite he’s done. Needs to clean it up,

A lot of stupid in this thread. Yeah, let's worry about the fan experience first before the athletes on the field and the coaches coaching them. We need to be worriying about our product on the field and this bullshite about just being good enough won't get you fired. We need to change the culture at LSU and let the coaches know exactly what's going on with this change and why it was made, what's expected of LSU athletics from this point forward and why expectations for LSU will be met bc we will give them everything they need to win titles with financial support, coaching staffs, and facilities/resources. That should be first. frick the fan experience right now. I will eat cold nachos while we kick arse and I will wait in traffic for an hour to get home after watching us kick arse.

That's a BIG ticket there. I used to reside in SOuth Stadium as a student. Those dorms aren't easily converted to condos or hotel type rooms. The restrooms in most of those dorm sections didn't even have stalls for the toilets. And while they were the largest dorm rooms on campus there were no private facilities for any of them. Also no A/C. Heating provided by radiators next to the windows.
Turning those old dorm rooms into desirable accommodations would be an architectural and logistical nightmare!

4. Football GameDay experience. Fire Aramark. Remove some ads. Reduce the parking pass areas. Make the Golden Band a new focus.
The company itself is not the problem, it's the idiots they hire to work the concession stands.
I went to Boston last weekend and all the concessions at Fenway were done by Aramark. They even have their logo on the bottom of my Red Sox souvenir cup.

There are only so many companies that can service 100k fans over a 4hr game. Most of the workers are temporary laborers

I think that a lot of what’s you say is true. It’s definitely my own personal subjective list of priorities. It’s also unintended to be the definitive list. Nor is it chiseled into stone in terms of its order of priorities.
More than anything I was hoping to pull a Gravy Chambers and, “start a conversation,” so to speak. I am interested in what others have to say, which is why both my subject line and the last line in my post posed questions to the reader.
There’s a lot of good sense behind the idea that an athletic department that fields teams that demonstrate dominance will go a long way, but the last decade of LSU Athletics has taught us that you can choke the goose that laid the Golden Egg. On and off the field.
I think the fans have been taken for granted as much as the ability or requirement of coaches to perform in dominant fashion. Fans will follow the results on the field. But even if that dominant on field or court performance isn’t immediate, focusing on the fan experience can still create a positive effect while we are struggling to regain our footing as dominant teams across our AD.
Only real problem here from my perspective is your condescension. Just state your disagreement. State your case without the hyperbole. This isn’t the Jim Rome show. It’s an Internet Message Board. We all want LSU to be successful. We all want to enjoy that experience. No need for name calling and hot take sports radio versions of posting in responses.

I personally would like to see a better commitment to getting more consistent, quality home games for the season ticket holders
**not sure how much the AD has to do with that

1. Restructuring of the compliance departmant. Get it to the level of bama and other elite programs.
2. Create a fan first game day experience. Improve concessions, parking, and tailgating will go a long ways.
3. Meet with coach o and evaluate what he needs to be successful in the long term. Facilities, assistants, and bigger recruiting budget all on the table.
4. Meet with will wade and see what facility upgrades hed like to see to remain at LSU for the long haul. Replacing the pmac cannot be ruled out.
5. Help paul maineri upgrade his coaching staff.
6. Nikki is deadweight, beginning planning for her replacement now.
