Woodward starts Tuesday. What are his 3-5 top priorities as he sits down and assesses LSU?

1.) GameDay Experience for LSU Football.
2.) Compliance Department at LSU.
3.) Rebuilding Booster Relationships.

I think Fargas is on borrowed time once he gets a feel for the Coaches. Her results can’t be masked by her slick presentation any longer. But she takes a bit of a backseat to the very real, tangible lack of asses in the stands of Tiger Stadium. If LSU Football isn’t healthy then the AD is operating at a competitive disadvantage as a whole IMO.

Those asses are not there because consistent fans have been priced out while those that remain have been shat on and literally marginalized out over a mile away in terms of parking from the Stadium. Tailgating culture outside of the well heeled or the drunken stupor parade ground crowd has been eviscerated over the last decade with people who didn’t understand-and worse, who didn’t care for-the culture surrounding it that’s made LSU so unique.

I am sincerely hopeful that Woodward will promote tailgating on campus and stop screwing fans over who don’t wanna pay for parking passes to bring a grill and run a 40” flat screen under their 10x10 out off of Gourrier and River Road.

Inside the Stadium, the much ballyhooed sonic and internet improvements are inconsistent and not as advertised. They began improving restrooms but I find it difficult to believe we could only improve a few or one or two areas at a time. Worst of all, they downgraded food service and concessions vendors which yielded bigger bottom lines with a decrease in Fan enjoyment and a crappier experience.

Getting out of the Stadium and off campus after a game is still a nightmare. We walk in and out of a stadium that has been added onto a multitude of times without addressing the traffic flow ingress/egress problem since before the East Addition opened almost 20 years ago. While shuffling past cavernous, empty parking lots reserved for parking pass owners that simply don’t buy them due to lack of demand.

We must restore GameDay and we must resolve these problems. That culture made us great and it has been ignored and neglected and fleeced by the previous regime.

What do y’all think?

I'll be that guy, "Let the band play Neck!". On a serious note, getting the game day experience back to the glory days would be nice even though it's probably not priority number one right now. I think he gets it done though.

Priority 1: stop shitty threads on tigerdroppings.

Edit: not necessarily talking about this thread.

There’s a lot of dead weight in the AD, coaches, and compliance that need to be let go. Fundraising is next. Our facilities are starting to lag behind.

I don’t know, the sheer impossibility of this task may scare him off.

Fire anyone employed by the athletic department who has a criminal record.

1. Remove Fargas. That’s an easy one.
2. Hire Kramer’s mom
3. Protect Wade and enable him to be great
4. Football GameDay experience. Fire Aramark. Remove some ads. Reduce the parking pass areas. Make the Golden Band a new focus.
5. Remodel the compliance department. This is the hardest one, and will take the longest

I think PM is on a longer evaluation list. Low priority. Let’s see how this season plays out and look at how he attempts to bounce back next season as a make or break year

Neck isn't the problem, it's the students section when they play Neck. You can't keep them from chanting, and the chant is obviously why the song is prohibited.

How do you fix that?

EDIT: The chant doesn't bother me at all. I think it's funny and typical of college kids.

Absolutely. But the ads have killed the authenticity of the gameday experience more than anything. You can’t go 2 minutes without an ad over the loudspeaker or 1 minute without an ad covering the video boards. Plus everywhere you look is covered in ads. It’s disgusting.

What we should do is reduce the ads and start a donation campaign specifically to make the difference. Even mention it as the goal of the campaign. I’d donate a bit more to cover the difference. Plus then the remaining ads become more valuable, and we may be able to charge more for those that remain

So my question is: how do you stop the student section from chanting "S that Tiger D"?

That's the only way it will be allowed again, IMO.

I have never understood the complaints about traffic. I have been a season ticket holder for many years and have attended all the games including the big ones. I have always got into free flowing traffic after only 10 minutes. Am I going in the opposite direction than I want to? Sure. But I get home just fine without any stress that I hear people complain about.

Two choices maybe

Totally repress them. Tell them we’re playing neck and if you want to spend a day in line at the dean of students office then by all means chat STTDB. if it looks like you’re chanting it or trying to conceal your mouth we will haul you in. Massive undertaking and pretty harsh but if you bust enough students it will stop. I say let them chant. Houston isn’t trying to stop M Fing cougars chant are they?

Or don’t play it lol

He will do the following:
1. Meet with and evaluate every person in that department. Every coach to administrative person.
2. He will evaluate the health of the department, it’s culture.
3. He will evaluate the facilities, how they stack up to other institutions.
4. He will formulate a plan to close any gaps that might exist including a specific timeline to close those gaps.

He is a FIERCE COMPETITOR (see below).

“The first thing you notice is he’s so interesting,” she said. “It’s unique in our industry because he’s extremely intellectual and very book-smart. He has so many interests and is a fierce competitor, so it’s all that wrapped into one.”

What happens with O will be his toughest job long-term. We won’t beat Bama while he’s here and O can’t work with an OC that’s not his friend. That said we’ll probably win 9 games every year with him. He’s already polarizing and that won’t change.
