Underwhelming how? You were expecting a Corbin hire? That was unrealistic. He wasn't my top guy but he's a good hire. Underwhelming if you only expected a hire that made no sense for anyone outside an LSU fan.

Woodward didn't lure Peterson away from Boise State. For the umpteenth time, Peterson's son has a rare, and potentially life threatening illness. The kids Specialist was at UWA in Seattle. The commute from Boise to Seattle was detrimental to the kids health. If anything Peterson approached Woodward. Another one that fell into Woodward's lap.

Eh, one trip to Omaha in 18 years of D1 baseball. Mainieri had potential just like this guy. I can assure you no one was jacked up about a coach who had one regional win in his career getting the LSU job. Johnson actually has success in Omaha

LSU recruits itself and his teams know got to hit they lead the nation in BA. if he brings his hitting coach with him it’s a home run. Plus all he needs is a good pitching coach and we will be back on top in no time. Sit back and watch the man work before you start crying. Didn’t matter who Woody hired half of the rant was gunna cry about it

So you’re saying LSU is no longer an elite program. i expect LSU to make an elite hire in baseball considering it’s one of the few profit centers in college baseball combined with it’s history. McDonnell, Godwin or Vitello would have made a better hire. That tells me a lot of coaches said no. Lucky for Johnson, he has serious talent in the starting 9 coming back. If Johnson doesn’t lead LSU to Omaha next year, than I will just chalk it up as another meh LSU hire. Good luck trying to beat State every season.
